Is RYM a good reference for deciding if an album is good or not, or should I stick with Scaruffi?

The ratings are moderately useful if you're looking into an artist with a huge discography and just need somewhere to start. Otherwise, ignore ratings. Just read the reviews and see if the description of the music sounds like something you'd like

RYM is a good database for finding music, good if you have a small group of friends who you compare ratings to, not good if you actually care what a bunch of pitchfork and rolling stone detritus have to say.
