What does /mu/ think about the recent news that merch cannot be sold in the venue in Australia?
What are those women protesting about?

I have no idea, but it should be about this. Bands make nearly all their money from tickets and merch these days, don;t make it harder to sell merchandise.
>>60317450
Not relevant to the discussion.

I think it's rude. What if a fan wants merch?
>>60317487
Have to get it online which is a pain in the ass. I'm much more likely to impulse buy a t shirt at a gig than browse the bands online store.

More reasons for bands to avoid that place. Poor Ausies
I think it means that there's now little to no incentive for artists to tour there now. A hefty chunk of their pocket cash comes from the merch table. Gas money to the next venue, food, etc.

source? i can't find anything about this
All exactly right. Anybody here have any idea what the incentive is? Does it in some way have any negative effects whatsoever?
maybe they can just sell stuff out of their car outside the venue
>>60317584
It was on an Aussie news channel earlier.
>venues
thank dog i'm not a norman
what the fuck is the justification for this?
thought the liberal party were supposed to be free trade
>>60317432
sucks for australia. less bands will be playing there now
>>60317432
>merch cannot be sold in the venue in Australia
for what purpose?
this is what you chose
you could have had it all
>>60317432
Why is Australia so fucking shit? I'd rather move to Russia.
>>60317432
Why are Australian lawmakers such maliciously stupid cunts?
What was the reasoning for such a clueless decision?
