ITT: music that helps you fall asleep
>>60314837
Yup, that album is shit.
>>60314837
how can someone not like this
it feels so sincere among all the forced hardcore stuff such as 2pac or biggie
>>60314963
I sincerely dislike that album however within the east-coast scene, 36 chambers is so much better
>>60314837
i tried to hard to like illmatic. listened to it about 5 times. its just boring
Radiohead
>>60314982
midnight mauraders too...

hey guys why not try listening to the stories woven in the lyrics? or can you not keep up with was ;)
i can see how people may find the production dull on certain tracks but i don't understand how you could say they lyrics are boring if you're even trying to listen
>>60315065
You have to appreciate the skill involved in the rapping to really enjoy it.
10/10 for me
GOAT sleepcore, not in the way that it's boring, but focusing on the textures and imagery always helps me drift off
Which was better: east coast 90s scene or the west coast 90s scene?
>>60315117
I'm a hip hop pleb. Only thing I know is that I love Madvillainy, GKMC and TPAB. Havin' a hard time getting through the classics tho'
>>60315290
Madvillain is good but it's overrated. DANGERDOOM is way better.
>>60314837
this album sucks so bad
literally the dream theater of rap
>muh technical skill
>muh artistic prowess
>muh you need to be a musician to get it
>>60315290
Comes with time desu. Just give stuff a legit chance and if it doesn't click no worries. If you're looking for some dope 90s Hip Hop check out
Ready To Die
Moment Of Truth
Follow The Leader
This album is fucking beautiful. This helps me sleep even if it is depressing as shit.
the downward spiral knocks me out in about four tracks and i don't even particularly dislike the album
>>60315290
The production on most early rap albums can be very rough, and it definitely makes listening to some of the classics difficult if you are used to newer styled rap production.
One of my favorite late night bedtime albums, Lady Brown is such a beautiful song and I can't help but feel relaxed listening to it.

listen to Departure from him

>listening to albums is difficult
Then simply dont listen to them. Listening to music shouldn't be a chore.
>>60316941
I completely agree with you on how you shouldn't making listening to music a chore. I was just trying to convey that the difference between older rap and newer rap can be a bit jarring for fans of newer rap.
I enjoy both old and new, but I know plenty of people that only like the older stuff, or only like the new shit. The point is, just listen to what you like, don't force enjoyment.
no joke

acquired taste mane, but after you've acquired it you will find the true genius behind a lot of 90s rappers. I'd recommend Redman's early solo albums and Gang Starr's discography, maybe Joey Bada$$ will ease your transition into 90s hip hop cuz he has a jazzy vibe and is a good lyricist.
Wouldn't recommend listening to 2pac or biggie too much honestly, at least not for now outside of their top albums (ready to die and all eyez on me).
most vaporwave helps me sleep (only thing it's good for desu)
but this one works the best
>>60315927
he watched the twin towers burn while he listened to it
The first four songs mostly. Then it gets a bit too spooky
>>60315174
its close but id say east coast. wu tang, mobb deep, nas, biggie...i mean, come on
Used to drift off to the first four tracks nightly when I was in high school
>>60315174
east coast for sure. west had the best producers though.
>>60315174
East has aged the best in any case.
