Any musicians? Lets get a thread going where we give fellow musicians constructive criticism.
I'll start with me, https://youtu.be/Z5cjW9bd-NI

Your thoughts? Would love to listen to some of the talent I'm sure some anons have.

I can't tell if it's just the recording, but if you have a sustain pedal, USE IT.

It's so frustrating to hear people who play piano and never even touch it. It's what defines most of the sound of the piano. JUST USE IT. PLEASE. FOR THE SAKE OF EVERYONE LISTENING.

Other than that, you seem to have a decent voice. I think what you're missing is nuance. You play the notes and sing them fine. If you add dynamics, sustain some of your notes, add vibrato, etc., then you'll display more emotion. Right now it seems a bit dry, but there's something there.

It's the recording man, I use the sustain pedal frequently. Thanks for the notes about nuance and dynamics; after listening to this several times, I've noticed my voice, while in tune, is emotionless(i would say flat, if not for the musical implication of such)

Ah glad to hear you're not one of those non-pedal users. I wouldn't say your voice is emotionless. Your articulation seems expressive. Just think there's some untapped energy there. Maybe if you start each lyrical line with more umph, you might display more conviction. I look to Allen Stone for nuanced vocals the most, and I regard this video as one of his best moments for that I guess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3D-0Ju-_ICE
He specializes in that really slow vibrato, but he varies the speed throughout the song. He also changes his dynamics so abruptly; one second, he's super quiet and the next, he's in your face. I would say that he kinda sacrifices his articulation/pronunciation for more clear notes, but that has its pros and cons.

This is where I'm at atm: https://soundcloud.com/ophidianima/sincerely

the singing sounds forced and seriously out of key. do the same thing, but wear headphones so the piano isn't captured in the recording and you'll hear how you really need to work on your pitch and tone quality

of course, I don't think of myself as that great of a singer. I've been at it for 6 years, but I never took lessons, so I'm way behind the majority of people who have had that much time. My vibrato is pretty weak. All I'm doing these days is just belting it out and working on my vocal fry. I aspire to yelling like this girl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULYTqO2YDuU

Good advice man, I appreciate it and will do tomorrow. I've been singing only several months now, so I hope I can hear what you're talking about. Know of any tools I could possibly use in terms of tuning?

One of many that need finishing touches

This is two songs, the first one is like a minute or so and the next song is the rest.

Thinking about rerecording vocals

Anybody please provide feedback? I might post more of my stuff if I'm still awake.

You're trying to sing "good" (which honestly ruins a lot of music), and you aren't talented enough to pull of that kind of singing anyway because you just aren't competent enough of a singer. However, honestly just focus on singing notes, just let the singing come out naturally. Even if you're playing an instrument at the same time, just sing like you exhale air like any other time you talk.

I don't have any recordings of me except shitty ones my mom took when I was in high school jazz band :(

What kind of synth are you using? You should work some more on that patch. Give it a more textured sound.
And consider adding another bassline (no synth). Synth only bassline like these can often sound a bit dull IMO.
I advise you to make the structure of the song a bit more unpredictable. Sudden drum solo perhaps
I like the direction you're heading, but there's still a lot to be done. Succes & don't forget to have some fun ;-)
