Hey /mu/. Was wondering what you guys would think about an album that is just recordings of someone lip-syncing songs?
I wouldn't consider it ASMR, because the person isn't actually singing.
Thoughts?

wait wat
like, just the sound of the person's lips moving?
That's fucking awful
I'm sure a few morons will call it 'revolutionary' though.
Original songs or 'covers'? And would they just move their mouth or actually employ air?
Sounds like something a Wandelweiser composer would make. You can try it, but I don't think an entire album like that would be worth listening to.
Maybe record a few songs like that, but only keep one recording intact on the album — and make the others reworkings, remixes, or other concepts?

Pretty much.

They would employ air.

i really don't see how it's any different than asmr
can you vocaroo an example of what you're trying to do?

It might be ASMR. Every time I've heard it, it's just someone talking or whispering into a mic. If you need an example, just start mouthing the words of a song. That's what it is.

Hilariously contrived. Lazy. Novelty for novelty's sake. Shit.
You're less than a hack.
Less.

This was really rude of me to say. I'm sorry.
