A friend recommended Siouxsie and the Banshees. Which one should I listen to first?
The Scream
>>60296385
don't, and listen to some real goth
Juju
>>60296518
this if you dig new wave
>>60296385
this if you like early punk like sex pistols
>>60296572
No, if you want new wave you listen to Kaleidoscope.
Juju is their most goth record, the Scream is mostly just post-punk.
Thank you, friends!

I'll also try this out.
Listen to Savages instead they improved the formula
>>60296385
JUJU and A Kiss in the Dreamhouse are my favorites.
You'll probably want to start with Kaleidoscope since it's more skeletal / minimal.
>>60296385
Their best albums:
Kaleidoscope
The Scream
A Kiss in the Dreamhouse
Juju
Tinderbox
Peepshow
Superstition
Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Listen to the first four albums chronologically, then go from there.

>no hyæna
>>60297234
You should skip the second though
The Scream is a masterpiece and pretty much invented shoegaze. Even if no one recognizes it because "mallgoth durr"
While we're here, can someone rec me some good gothic and/or ethereal stuff?
I like Chelsea Wolfe, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhuas, Lydia Lunch, Esben and the Witch and Cocteau Twins. Already have Dead Can Dance and Lycia lined up.

Replace Superstition with Hyena, or Through the Looking Glass
>>60297320
Really? I love Join Hands, it has some of their most unsettling songs.
>>60297305
The thought did cross my mind. A couple of great songs and the rest is forgettable.
>>60297334
Check out The Soft Moon

>>60297357
Yeah, but too much filler (they even admited it), it's not bad but might turn some ppl off
Hope they reunite, Siouxsie was in top form in the Mantaray tour, she still might have the chops
>>60297357
Join Hands is their most sparse and unsettling album imo. I can see why it's not for everyone.
>>60297381
Good shit, thanks family.
>>60297430
Didn't she just release a new solo song for Hannibal? I suppose it's possible.
>>60297334
>the fucking guitar on this track

weird, I never thought of The Chameleons as goth
