Glad I wasn't the only one.
Still love him to bits, just very seldom listen to his music anymore...
"first musical hero"

>>60294893
No shame in that, a lot of people felt that way.
>>60294893

>>60294823
current musical hero
still is
Kinda embarrassed nowadays to admit it, but AC/DC (specifically Angus) is what made me wanna learn guitar when I was 10 or 11. I can't stand them now.
still is desu
White Blood Cells got me into music.
>>60295006
lol i was at Sydney harbour drinking on saturday night and their stupid concert was audible the entire time from miles and miles away
>>60294729
>>60294876
These two until I heard pic related
Fucking Marilyn Manson. I still like some of the bands shit, but outside (and inside of his later music) of music he can be pure cringe. The Pale Emperor is pretty good though, one of my favourite bigger releases of the year.
>>60294715
Stravinsky
Zack de la Rocha. "Bulls On Parade" was the first song I ever memorized in full. I remember being 10 and listening to it on MTV or something, and that second verse fucking head up with the "I walk the corner to the rubble that used to be a library/Line up to the mind cemetery now"
>fights for what she believes
>polite, despite having to deal with this since the very beggining
>>60296197
Lauren pls go
Axl Rose.
Was seven y/o (1991) when I was at a gas station and my mother said: "Get whatever cassette tape you want" thinking I was gonna pick some childrens stuff (specially one called The Little Parsley)
Saw a tape with a cross with skulls on it and thought it looked decent as fuck, so I said I wanted that.
My mother said: "Ok" and then we put the cassette on in the car, blasting Welcome To The Jungle on volume 4 (of 20).
Was hooked man.

You were blessed anon
first album
i was really into green day from the ages of like 6-13. pretty much worshiped billie joe and wanted to start playing guitar because of him. also when i was like 10 my parents played a best of the doors CD and i loved it so much i was playing air guitar along with it. i thought jim morrison was the guitarist and singer cause i saw him shirtless on the cover and instantly thought of him as a legend and inspiration
>>60298013
For sure Tigran Hamasyan has been one of my biggest inspirations recently, along with Robert Fripp.
I also have a lot of musical heroes from local scenes, mostly because they've been the people who shaped me most through playing and teaching.
I-I can't possibly be alone there, right guys?
my first real one
current ones are Robert Johnson and Frank Zappa
Since I grew up with a bassist and he introduced me to music, I probably have to say his favorite, Edgar Myer.
Current idol, every time that i listen is like the first time
>he's from my country and nobody here in the electronic scene don't have a clue about who's him
>>60300771
where/when were you born?
I can't choose between this guy (Rhett Miller of Old 97's)
Bradley Nowell
H.R.
>>60298758

>>60294715
>Buddy Holly impersonator hyoed up to be a musician by the KLF
>musical
>hero
God Ween Satan inspired me to play guitar
>>60295006
No shame in that. Knowing how to write a fun riff is a legitimate skill.
Deron miller
Still a big fan of how he can write a technical but catchy riff that get's stuck in your head.
>>60294845
1st and only
The Mountain Goats were the first band I ever got really into, in 8th grade. He inspired me more as a writer than as a musician, admittedly, but it was one of the reasons i kept playing guitar
>>60297731
this for me too
love me some RDJ
>>60294715
I always thought this guy was cool back in the day. I'm really old, though.
Completely opened up a world of music for me.
I wish I was born a girl
>>60300771
only decent taste so far
pic: I was obsessed with the Independence day Score as an 11 year old.
I listen to mostly classical music now
>>60295006
ac/dc guitar is undeniably neat and unique. I'm not a huge fan, but they did some interesting shit and their live show was legendary (supposedly)
>>60294992
same
I honestly never felt what was a musical hero until I listened to Bowie
Heroes and Ziggy just rank high in my list of favorite albums, can't wait for Blackstar.
>>60298013
Bowie and Steven Wilson
>>60294959
based
>>60304885
People are pretty sure it's Floyd at this point. Nobody can prove it, but it doesn't really matter at this point.
The Residents were surprisingly consistent for what they were/are, and even past their "prime" they still put out enough good albums and projects that it was worth keeping up with them.
>>60308427
Most kids had an emo phase, I had a glam phase thanks to Ziggy.
>>60294992
this too
i miss bill doss :(
