Yea, "backpacker" is pretty much someone who only listens to underground "heady" rap like Aes and Busdriver and DOOM and absolutely despises any form of popular hip hop. Dälek would fit the listen of things they listen to. At the same time backpacker means someone who is into the more philosophical introspective side of rap that is way more lyrical than other subgenres of rap

You gotta see the other Nat Geo shots of that guy - he's hunting a crocodile with a rifle. the album cover is the least badass photograph they got of him, which is kind of cool that they chose it. but the album title probably doesn't need to be there, and the font choice for it is horrendous

Backpackers usually like rap with great lyricism (though they do tend to lean towards the more underground stuff). They only dislike popular ignorant, turn up rap shit.
