Whatever you say, officer

>Brian Jonestown Massacre
Noice m8, have you heard their other stuff? I've only heard Who Killed Sgt. Pepper, wanted to know how it stacks up.
>>60289383
Nah I've only heard Pol-Pot's Pleasure Penthouse before listening to this one, and imo this one sounded a lot more folk-sounding than 4P, which was pretty psychedelic. All the songs on TGFMI are solid though, including the second half.
>>60289619
Sick, I'll have to check it out then. You should listen to WKSP too, really psychedelic with a bit of a krautrock flavour to it.
HEX ENDUCTION HOUR
HOUNDS OF LOVE
STARSAILOR
MINGUS AH UM
ALCACHOFA
>>60288970
What's number 3?
Also, You Forgot It In People is a masterpiece of indie rock, but I gotta say my favorite is their self titled.
I don't have time to create a chart but
>Robert Wyatt - Rock Bottom
>Red House Painters - Down Colorful Hill
>Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You
>Unrest - Tink of S.E.
>Sun Ra - Atlantis

What are these ratings out of, 5 or 10
>>60292544
I'd wager you ain't heard at least 3/5 of mine though. I'm the Future Days guy.

>>60293267
it's cool, I don't recognize those singles though
I'm envious of little your taste has changed
>>60293267
To be frank I'd get very bored of these pics in a short space of time. I don't really get this thing about Trout Mask being really replayable, if anything the more you listen to it the more the illusion is broken imo.

>>60293333
TCB, if Deceit should ever move out of your top 5, then that will be a very sad day indeed imo
Also nice quads
>>60288970
Fond of Tigers, nice! they dont see too much love
you should check Make a Rising, theyre pretty similar (but better), and [bleu]
..in case youre still here or return to this thread, that is
>>60293347
funny, thats the opposite of what everyone else said about trout mask
>>60293386
I'm fairly sure that's never gonna happen
I'll probably gonna buy myself a Deceit LP this Christmas
>>60293333
The singles are Funk and Dixieland. Not sure if you would dig that.
Why would someone be envious of a stagnating taste though? My taste has actually changed though, just not my Top 15.
I still haven't listened to anything from your favorites.
>>60293347
It just has a lot of creative moments you don't usually hear, so the replay value stays high. I don't listen to it very often anyways.
>>60293405
But I see it as being great at first because it sounds completely wild and untamed, but as soon as you start to realise the structures in the music it loses all of its mystery and ends up being not all that interesting.
>>60288970
>listening to music
>>60293464
not saying i cant see why youd think that, i loved in on my first listen for those same reasons, but the riffs, mood, interplay, etc are interesting enough to keep me at it. its not like percieved chaos is the only thing that album has to offer
>>60293455
I really wouldn't consider it as stagnating, I'm just talking about having a few albums that you can listening to everyday without being bored, something that you can relate to and besides a very small number of 3 I don't really have any albums that could fit this description
or maybe i'm just romanticizing
>>60293539
I seldom listen to my favorites though. I would guess I listen to those twice per year.
>>60293538
This is true, but I guess to me other albums do those things better than Trout Mask. It's not that I dislike the album, but I don't quite get why it's so revered.
>>60293654
thats okay
what other albums, if i may ask?
>>60293684
For mood and interplay? A fair amount of stuff,Can I guess being an example, but I mean there are lots of albums I'd think of before Trout Mask for those, a whole heap of jazz stuff for starters. If we're talking more 60s rock, then Music from Big Pink is one of my faves in terms of its mood and atmosphere.
>>60292499
nice taste there anon

>>60290916
same, man. why do people like YFIP more? I mean they're both awesome but s/t for life
>>60290916
Middle one is Fond of Tigers "A Thing To Live With", great mix of post rock and math rock at some points. If you want it I shared it a while ago so it should still be in the archive.
As for the BSS, they're s/t is good but it's not quite YFIIP. IMO, order is FGL=YFIIP=BH>s/t>FRR
