Listen to the trilogy Computer Death, Computer Decay, and Computer Afterlife by Infinity Frequencies. If you can, listen to them immediately one after another. The transition from Death to Decay gave me chills the first time listening to all three consecutively

These are my three favourite vaporwave albums at the momen. The feeling of dull sorrow coupled with the surreal atmosphere makes for such a unique experience.

Vektroid - Neo Cali
not very heavy on the sampling for vaporwave standards, but it WAS made by one of the founding mothers/fathers of the genre

A lot of the stuff under Vektroid was after the artist specifically stated they were distancing themselves from vaporwave.

Those albums are as close as I have yet found to that haunted nostalgia feeling. The very opening moments of Computer Death combined with the cover art are terrifying. It's like an alarm is going off because the computer world we're in is dying.

If you are really that into soft jazz, just listen to soft jazz, like Kenny G, John Tesh, and Eric Clapton. Or better yet, listen to vocal jazz like Nat King Cole, Norah Jones, Ella Fitzgerald, and so on.
