for the most part, yes. you have to remember that was a product of its time, and in general the period when it was popular (~2003-2009) wasn't a good period in general for house music
but when it hits the spot, like in Vocalcity, the result is amazing

for every luomo, villalobos and luciano there were a thousand rich berlin kids each producing one EP a week filled with boring af 'tech house'

in case you didn't know, Luomo tried to make a tech/minimal house album that encompassed most of the cliches of house music. that's why the album sounds 'cheesy', but the production is absolutely phenomenal. Sasu Ripatti is pure producer porn

I fucking love Vocalcity, used to alway put it on when I had to get work done or concentrate on something. Still love listening to it.

Maybe try listening to later Luomo stuff? If I recall his later releases are a lot more poppy although not as truly minimal. Idk man if you really don't like something then don't bother. It's definitely worth giving that album a few tries though
