Why do people like noise music? I'm not dissing it. I'd love to get into it but to me it all sounds the same and gives me a headache. I'd like to know how i can grow to enjoy such a weird ass genre.

the weird noises you can come up and make sound cool to me. even better if its a live band making noise instead of all electronic equipment, e.g. The Gerogerigegege

perhaps you'd appreciate it more if you went to a noise show and talked to the musician afterwords. the amount of time and effort that goes into learning music hardware is insane. you can't just make good noise by dicking around with the effects in audacity for 5 minutes, doesn't work that way at all.

As a person who likes noise, all I can say is that it sounds pleasing to me. What you are calling a headache, I call an altered sense of reality. It is music that has a clear physical effect and I find that very interesting. Plus comfy noise exists and is awesome if you dont want a "headache"
I find the sonic textures/the way it sounds interesting.
Then again, I only really listen to early Sonic Youth and Big Black so don't trust my opinion too much.

big black ain't noise and sy's pure noise releases are largely relegated to the syr series and other projects/solo releases, my man
I came at it from ambient, industrial, noise rock and electronic music which are all strongly textural already. Noise is pure texture divorced from traditional song structure

This, I use noise in my compositions. So I understand what it is. Even with that said a lot of noise musicians are edge lord hacks, so that lends to the reputation it gets.
