what equipment do you have?
i'm currently learning synth modeling on the alesis ion. lots of knobs to change for sweet simple evolving sounds.
pic related - looking to upgrade my setup to the dave smith instruments poly evolver, but it's damn expensive.. wondering if anyone can comment.

there are some videos on yt of the DSI Tetra, which makes it look good for done. although it doesn't look like there's much control over it.
How difficult is it to make this type of music compared to other genres?

for me, once i get the texture i want, it's easy. its not about 'writing or making challenging music' - its a very peaceful, relaxing yet engaging jam session. the point is to get lost in the moment with the swelling tones.

i haven't even bothered to look into it, tripdevil. but i suspect your right.
fav ambient composer? mine's gregg kowalsky. his music is so carefully crafted i get physical sensations, like my body is floating or vibrating when listening to it.
