The song was inspired by a conversation Wayne Coyne had with his brother during the time before his father passed away. His father was very ill and slowly dying and Wayne's brother asked Wayne if he was doin ok, or if things we "getting heavy". Wayne thought things we already "as heavy as they could be" but realized his brother was letting him know that it would get worse when their dad does eventually pass away. A beautiful, beautiful song with a gorgeous melody written by Steven Drozd

(I'm a different person but) tame impala is boring because their's nothing in their music which hasn't been done better elsewhere, nor is any of it a unique combination of those things. It's ok psych pop-rock, but it really sounds like they're singing halfheartedly written Lennon songs with more vocal reverb.

Holy shit thanks for posting this.

I first heard about Ozric Tentacles while in Greece on a beach at night. This is the place where the hippies reside, everyone just free camping there. One night we sat by a campfire and we were discussing music, and this one Greek man suggested I listen to Ozric Tentacles. He pronounced it phonetically though, so tentacles became tenta cless (cless as in less with a c in front of it). Because we didn't understand him he wrote it in the sand, and I've never forgotten about them from that day on.
>>
>>55577554
>their's nothing in their music which hasn't been done better elsewhere,
you could literally make this same argument for the Beatles, who also just borrowed and improvised a lot from band around them

Why are we even discussing this? People are allowed to like or dislike bands if they want to.

I personally tripped on mushrooms and listened to Tame Impala, and I've never experienced anything as beautiful in my life. It's not suprising that that doesn't go that way for everyone.

In reality though? I tripped with 2 other friends once. At a certain point I was in the exact same headspace as another friend, and we were having the deepest conversations about life. The other friend did not speak with us; he mentioned the monkeys on the wall, and how everything looked weird.

While I don't find it dull, I think listening to psychedelia while tripping is sort of "playing it safe". It's sort of designed for the experience.

The best fun is finding the best music for your trip outside your comfort zone.

you can reach the godhead if you know what you're doing, but when you say you like hectic trips that worries me and makes me disregard what you say because it's like you don't know how to trip... I mean, you can enjoy your trip how you like, but if you really want to use it right, ya gotta know what it's all about
>>
>>55578606
I can relate to this
Me and my friends have tripped on both shrooms and acid and the girls we trip with are so odd, they just talk about visuals and how nice it all looks whereas we seem to discuss things varying in topics
>>
>>55578606
that is ridiculous
>>55578640
i tried listening to death grips tripping and it was not pleasant
>>
>>55578649
That dude wasn't me but:

I like hectic trips because I prefer my world to get shaken up instead of just intensified. I don't just want to be sitting around and talking about how pretty everything is, I want to be extensively debating my friend's assertion that at any moment he can think himself out of existence if he thinks hard enough.

And I get into that headspace through chaos, not easy listening.

Anyone can trip anyway they want though.
>>
>>55578649
Dude, elaborate on the godhead you speak off. How have you seen it in your trips?
>>
>>55578715
While I was tripping, I didn't even realise that I was tripping. I wasn't looking at it through my own eyes anymore: I was literally in another world, not just viewing it from our own world.

Dude. We're two different people.

I agree with what you say here. There's no right way or wrong way to trip. Usually it does say something about what kind of person you are though; be it energetic, relaxed, impulsive, etc.
>>
>>55578866
I know we're different lol obviously you don't have the experience I have so you think subjectivity is what it's about, it's not

If you know what you're doing, amazing things happen. if you don't, you'll just trip, and that's fine, but a waste of brain cells

I'm not dogging on you, but yea gotta study up and 'get there'
>>
>>55578902
There is indeed a right way to trip. I've guided only four people, but they all had positive adventures and reccomended me, i was quite taken back to be hones not trying to brag

>but yea gotta study up and 'get there'

K, man. You seem like an expert on experts!

>There is indeed a right way to trip

The only actual real right way to trip is to figure it out for yourself.

You can be a pleasant tour guide but it's the trip that's important for the person.

Not trying to dig you or anything, but you kind of sound a little bragging, not too much but yeah.

wow, nice. and it only gets better when you can focus on it for the time being

it sounds like bragging when you have to explain so,etching as big as acid and the godhead...

but I'm not, it's a trip at first, but later becomes a door to heaven to see God, see what's up

I once thought that with psychedelics you start to see things differently. You don't start to see them differently, they actually become differently. You are no longer in the same place you were before.
>>

I guess it's because I don't naturally view things in the form of a godhead but my most intensive trips are always an enrapturing sort of feeling of a singularity of being (yeah, I feel you when explaining sounds sort of ridiculous) - just sort of a complete ending of me and a beginning of everything else.

It seems weird to me though. With stuff like MDMA you can exactly pinpoint when you've had too little and want some more.

With truffles, I don't even think about the dose while tripping. It can't be heavy or light, because you're not really you experiencing it, but rather being something else.

I've never really done small doses, so how does truffles work then, without you being able to reach another world?

for me personally, I can tell right away when I come down, it's not blurry anymore, I used to be when I was younger

like ooo I'm down, or whoa ok that's enough I'm loaded
>>
>>55579224
For me it's always "okay, I think I'm getting down right now", "nope, never mind" and that continues for a while.

Hell no. Mgmt are freaking terrible man. I've enjoyed Tame Impala to some extent though.

St.Anger is the opposite of all of that. LULU might expand your mind if you're high enough.
