Old /mu/ actually had discussions about the music techniques and themes of the albums we liked. We'd have listen alongs and share what we liked and what we didn't like about the album.
Now I don't think anyone even talks about the music. It's all simple opinions like, "This is great/sucks," or just giving it a rating out of ten. And then when you attempt to discuss the ineptitude of neo-/mu/'s favourite albums, people just tell you it's all a matter of "taste" and that everyone's a winner!
