>"I have a lot of violent impulses. It gets channeled into music. I like to play drums when I'm angry. At home I have a metal instrument called a conundrum with a lot of things hanging off it that I've found - metal objects - and I like playing it with a hammer. I love it. Drumming is therapeutic. I wish I'd found it when I was younger."

I hear Appalachian Dulcimer is wicked easy to play, and I almost bought one too in this eccentric music story near me. The guy there builds his own instruments and collects old ones, and had a few gathering dust in a corner. I had already got my tenor banjo from him at the time so I was scrapped for cash. Too bad too, the place closed down or something before I could go back in.

didn't Tom Waits play a dumpster or some shit on one of his songs before? I'm being serious. I remember seeing an interview where he was talking about how he found a way to tune a dumpster.

‘Strata Dumpster’. He cut a two-foot hole into one side and stretched seven piano strings across it.
