WMP

MP3 because

- FLAC takes up too much space, specially for the amount of music one should ideally have
- Don't kid yourself, you're not an archivist
- The audible difference between lossless and lossy music is negligible, again -
- Don't kid yourself, you can't hear the difference and if you think you can you're under the effect of placebo

as long as it's about 320kbps MP3 is the best format for keeping music

Not true, lossless is pretty much the best format for keeping music, just not practical AT ALL

It's not even true in the wrong sense you're using, since -

Vorbis has a lower threshold for transparency and so does Opus

Enjoy your outdated UI, autist.

ITT: Everyone attempts to be unique by not using popular media players like iTunes or Spotify.

Don't even talk to me about muh FLAC
>>
>>55241138
I would say fujoshi don't quite get the same level of complete disgust whenever they post

I mean, animalfuckers have forcibly learned to keep to themselves (most of the time anyway) since they're pretty much hated EVERYWHERE ON THE INTERNET

They were so hated that that one dude that's no longer around made a board for them, let them all infest it, and them permabanned them all.

bu-but anon, iTunes and Spotify are horrendously terrible!
>>
>>55241279
I hear this all the time, and no one gives a decent reason other than extended utilization of different file formats.
>>
>>55241315
Well first of all, they are both DRM, which is always fucking horrible. I want to be able to OWN my music, thanks.
iTunes is constantly updating, which annoys pretty much everyone who uses it, and Spotify has adverts all the time, unless you pay up, goyim.
They are both jewware.
>>
>>55241315

I like being able to customize and extend usability with scripts and add-ons. It uses less memory than iTunes and Spotify (this isn't very important but it's still noteworthy). It doesn't have advertising.

Also, spotify is a paid streaming service, that's different than local file playback (and I know 0 people who use spotify for local playback because the software is awful).

I'm not even really much of a fujo, but they are bad for the same reasons as the furs. They take a community or fandom and completely overwhelm it until everyone else, like me, leaves. I'm not surprised socjus got a hold of tumblr and got so pissed about everything because the rotten girls are relentless and drove them out (of mostly places they didn't belong, like under lewd-ass fujoshit). I'd say it's really a matter of where you make your home. Fujos are pretty hated on /co/ and other boards, but ARE the community elsewhere to varying degrees.

I've been deep in the weeb underground so long I forgot how even tame kawaii kemoshit rustles jimmies here topside.

Why would I pay 10 dollars for content I don't own? I'd much rather go out and buy a physical copy. You're beyond moronic. Then again, you are a *nix user, so.
>>
>>55241701
Why not take that 10 dollars and use it on show tickets? Why not take that ten dollars and just send it directly to the band? Why not buy merch with iit?

See what I'm getting at? You can make that fucking argument all day, but overall, you're still being a cheap ass. I do both asshole, but I'm a member of What.CD as well.

And yes, I am *nix user. That doesn't mean I didn't grow up using Windows, or that I'm not familiar with a PC. Having more knowledge about OS's does not make me any less intelligent - if anything I have become more knowledgeable.

I have plenty of space and can free it up if I need to by converting stuff to lossy when needed. I don't fuss about not getting flac but when I rip stuff myself I do it to flac and sometimes flac is easier to find since I use Rutracker a lot.

In a word, album is great, pistol is shit.

There may be a few forgettable, or at least not very remarkable tracks, but I love the whole thing. Lampshades of Fire and The Tortoise & The Tourist are GOAT.
>>
I've had a Mac since 2011 and the only thing I really miss from the Windows environment has been foobar. It's been clunky through Wine so I finally went ahead and installed Parallels. It's like dating your ex again but she's magically wonderful like you remember her and not a crazy slut.
>>
>>55241872
>Why not take that 10 dollars and use it on show tickets? Why not take that ten dollars and just send it directly to the band? Why not buy merch with iit?

how is that even similar? spotify takes a massive cut from them. publishers take massive cuts. owning a physical copy is just better. it's like renting a car vs. owning it. end of the day you are paying to use it and if you stop paying, all that money goes to nothing, wheras i paid to own my shit.
>>
>>55242187

Describe to me how a unique and personalized foobar setup using columns UI is outdated.

>>55241872

All of those give significantly more money to the band than streaming while providing something physical in return, which is what I was getting at in the first place. Good job figuring it out on your own.
>>
>>55240541
I've done flac vs. mp3 blind tests before and I can say that I heard a very noticeable difference between a 128 kbps mp3 and a proper quality flac. I could easily get the test correct every time. However, I had a harder time discerning between a flac and a 320 kbps mp3. Although I only tried the test with one song. Also I was using ath m50's and a scarlett 2i2 (serves as an external amp and dac).
>>

>>
>>55242334
What do you do in the many cases it doesn't have an artist or album?
>>
>>55242307
Please let's end this stupid debate.
192kbps and lower are easy to distinguish vs 320 and Flac if you have a correct setup. 256 vs the same are distinguishable if the first is meh and you have a good ear and great setup. A good 320 and a flac are not distinguishable by hear.
Period.
>>
>>55242415
I'm not sure about period, but like I said, I had a more difficult time with it and didn't test extensively.

Not saying it's a bad thing tho. It's kinda the same with me and 320. You're sure that there is nothing you miss in the music. I just couldn't go through months of downloading and sorting everything I had in flac, even if I had the disc space necessary.

Do you guys who use Spotify premium think its worth the 10 bucks a month? It seems really nice to simply type in the name of an album and have it in 320kbps ready to go. No searching for a high quality download or using up hard drive space for music. But I dunno about $10/month, I thought it was more like $5.

>Gaudy visualizer
Customizable. You can have no visualizer if you want.
>Organization is a glorified file manager
Customizable. There are at least half a dozen different filters that you can use. From "glorified file managers" to the same filter that iTunes uses to others.
>Not optimized or scaled for high resolution screens
Not sure what you mean by this.
>Skeuomorphic design with XP like gradients
iTunes has ugly ass gray shit for the entire UI.
>Also, Of Monsters and Men? Fucking WOW
I'm sure your taste is so good Mr. Patrician. Radiohead, Death Grips, the list goes on right?

It's funny seeing Apple babies intimidated by actually being able to control things in their OS and programs rather than dealing with whatever garbage is shoved down their throats.

Intimidated? You're operating off stereotypes, bud. When you get a job in computer repair yourself, drop me a line, asswipe. Not that it's even my career goal, but I think I'm more qualified than you. Bad software is bad software. I'm all for customization, but don't pretend you're anything close to a software developer for being able to organize folders differently, or copy and paste lines of code into Command Prompt.. Are you implying you can't code or customize anything in a Unix based OS? OS X isn't iOS, moron.
