Can go from a fat fuzz to harsh noise wall depending on the setting
>>
>>54893321
My favorite pedal purchase ever was the Russian Big Muff. Slightly less abrasive than the standard, but still a great heavy tone.

>>54893365
This pedal is great too, but it requires a lot of parameter tweaking to get usable sounds (unless you're on that noise tip).
>>
>>54893365
I like the gate control on these.
>>54893321
My current set up is basic: VP Jr. Hall of fame reverb carbon copy delay dd3 digital used mostly for the hold. I want a walrus descent reverb
>>
>>54893321
I split my signal into an AC15 for the highs and mids and a Rumble 25 bass amp for the low end

signal path llooks like this

guitar--->overdrive------>delay----->AC15

V
Rumble 25

My Ibanez amp coupled with this bad boy gives me a pretty bitchin sound
>>
Where is the best place to get pedals on the cheap? I'm looking for reverb and delay specifically.
>>
>>54893321
hm-2 isn't the can of bees, that's the mt-2
>>
>>54893321
in the same vein, how does you get a tone like this??? with such thick sound, ive never heard anythuing like it.

from my experience, you get an amp with a solid, boomy clean tone and crank the gain JUST to the point before it starts to shatter.

Then throw a tubescreamer on it and bring the heat.
>>
I want this album distilled in my tone.

No questions. Just check it out.

I run my guitar and baritone through a splitter. One line goes unadulterated into an 80s Peavey Super Chorus 2x12 and the other goes through a custom fuzz and verbzilla into a 70s Acoustic bass head and 1x15

god dammit formatting, my guitar doesnt go straight into the rumblle the delay does
>>
>>54893321
why do guitar players always play boring shit during pedal demos
>>
This pedal causes some serious devastation.

Has bi-amping power so you can mix your clean bass tone with your dirty bass tone.

aslo, most people agree it's 99.9% exactly like the Russian big muff, making it perfect for guitar as well.

A/B/Y box with clean signal running to the chorus amp and a fuzzed out signal going to a bass head sounds like the best setup imo.

check out the megalith by mountainking pedals. i built one and its probably the heaviest pedal on the planet ;)

pic related.. it needs a paintjob

Pedal demos piss me the fuck off, literally shit settings every time. "how to make this decent pedal sound like shit"
>>
>>54893972
hhhhhhnnnngggggg
That shit makes me jelly, please tell me you have a Rat pedal running through that
>>
>>54893972
O)))h that is nice.

>>54894016
O)))h that is neat. How complicated is the circuit?
>>
>>54893321
HM-2 is probably the hardest pedal to get sounding good that I've ever used. Key is to work it around your amp settings and other distortion pedals as a thick boost I've found. Nastiest thickest tone if you dial it in right with a decent EQ going through you pretubes.
>>
I like the darkglass b3k overdrive. There are some effects that have good sort of 'bang for your buck' or 'poor man pedals' for bass but in my opinion there is none for overdrive. The cheap od pedals sound like a bass signal mixed with a bumble bee buzzing.

I have this,
when you crank it up all the way, it's pretty beefy
but I have to make sure the amp has a little bit of gain on it first
>>
>>54894504
i have a rat but tbh i don't use it a ton
>>
Whats your opinion on the 6505 and the 5150, /mu/? I was planning on getting the 65 combo for recording.
>>
big muff pi is cool
>>
>>54893695
Try fuzz face+bass big muff+swollen pickle+orange amp
>>
>>54894842
nice amps and good for stuff other than metal as well despite what people say. never liked the combo though. do like the speakers they have.
>>
>>54894941
Whats wrong with the combo versions in your opinion? I have my Marshall but I like how the 5150/6505 take pedals, and I was just looking for a combo for room recording
>>
>>54894610
the circuit was pretty simple.. wiring the three way notch shift switch was a little tricky, but all in all not too bad. i certainly wouldnt recommend this for a first build tho
>>
>>54894979
oh i made a typo. i don't like the speakers they have. its just my personal preference.

I use this, it's way way better than people say. If you don't turn your knobs all the way then you can get a lot of great tones from it. Just fucking learn to use it.

I've found all of Zvex's fuzz pedals to be a little less than versatile (but interesting in their own right). The Mastotron is a very specific kind of fuzz, I could pick it out anywhere I think.

I've got a Digitech Hot Head tuned to the low ends and an old Digitech Super Distortion tuned to the high ends that I use at the same times. How does Billy Corgan get that sweet, sweet sound on Cherub Rock?

Had it, nothing like a russian muff, just really mediocre. The Deluxe version had a way better tone, would have been better without the crossover thing though. Swollen Pickle is best bass fuzz though
>>
OCD into a MojoMojo. It sounds like my amps is going to die. Feedback for days.
>>
>>54896582
I thought Billy's tone for that kind of thing was just a big muff with sustain all the way up and the tone knob been 1 and 2 o'clock

I'm kind of after another delay at somepoint. I'd prefer a digital delay since I have a EHX Memory Toy that I use for Analogue stuff. Been looking at a TC Electronic Flashback and a Boss DD3. Anyone got experience with either or have any other recommendations?
