I listened to EDM about a good 3-4 years. Got into electronic music through it.
It's pretty shit. Repeated ideas to ad nauseum. There's a "trend" and everyone makes what's pretty much the same track, over and over again. It gets boring.

I truly enjoy the music I listen to. I see the obscurity of it as an added plus. It's like that childhood feeling of finding a rare Pokemon card or as an adult when you find a really good ethnic restaurant that has cheap prices and not many people know about.
