I do fine just downloading new stuff that I think will be popular torrents when they are new and seeding them. Depending on how soon, and how popular I can seed a torrent to 4+ ratio pretty easily. I seeded over a 2gb of TPAB and 1gb from TPTB, and I was late on both.
Always download the freeleech picks though, that's a good way to get some extra buffer.

you have to make sure you keep up with the new torrent shit show that happens around an un-expected releases. A lot get taken down and reuploaded, so you can catch them a few times.

The absolute foolproof way to succeed on what.cd is to fill requests when starting off and just using it as your go-to music resource.
As long as you have a moderately esoteric music taste and semi-decent internet connection you shouldn't require any freeleech bonuses.

It's not poppy, it's chanson which is rooted in French traditional music. Same with the other bands I linked--Havnatt has a classical soprano vocalist and a classical guitarist, Jännerwein has neofolk guitar with vocal style from German traditional music. I personally think the genre is better than ever, with more varied and interesting bands than before, even if it sounds less and less like the 80s, but I'll agree to disagree and good luck finding some music you like with your tokens.

Invites are only allowed to be given away to friends, and on class restricted sections of other private trackers. I don't know but no one has ever gotten any kinds of complaints from ISPs or anything from using What.CD, you're safe using it. You can also use a VPN for torrent traffic, just not for browsing the site (which you can configure an exception for What.CD, I don't know the details how though as I don't use a VPN).

They're volunteers who just do as many as they can, so just keep trying, staying for a couple hours when you can and checking back to see if the queue is moving every 15-30 minutes (unless you're first or second in place, then pay more attention). Sometimes you can wait all day and no one will be there, sometimes you might get an interview right away, there's no set hours anyone is on.

Are you Australian? (I know other places say mate too, so if not just a guess.) If so your time zone might be why you're having more trouble, most interviewers are probably on in North American and European afternoons.
It really is sort of just luck though, I'm staff on a different tracker and on our help channel, sometimes people wait all day to get help, sometimes someone will come on when one of us are right there and get an instant reply. It sucks but we're just volunteers, I had a slow time getting an interview on WhatCD too and thought they were even lazy, didn't realise they spent hours and hours on interviews with random people for nothing. The record interview is like 5 hours or something (most just 30 minutes or so), I definitely would not want to do it.

when I joined I was member of some lame trackers like asiatorrents and rutracker (lame as in easy to get in), and it didn't matter. I also included my kickass account, because I think the interviewer asked me to post all trackers.
