originally recorded in 2007, aka my freshman year of high school, but never released. i was supposed to spend friday night playing music with my best friend but he ditched me for the "popular" kids, so i went home that friday and decided i was going to record something to spite him. i drank a bunch of cough medicine, and, armed with a guitar, bass, combo amp, a floor tom, a hat, a multieffects pedal and a copy of audacity, made this record. recorded on friday, mixed on saturday, finished on sunday. i hope you enjoy it!

Not gonna lie, this is interesting... It sounds like Beach House, Slint, and Beck got together and wanted to make something unique. The instrumentals are tight af.

Maybe it was just me but the stuff on "X" felt a bit too quiet for my liking... Maybe I just don't get it. Overall though it's incredibly nice.. the way everything works together just works if that makes sense at all.

This is one of the best compliments I've honestly ever gotten for my music. I fucking love Ian Cutis. Even though I'm trying to do 60s, I have tried channeling a bit of Ian's energy into my vocals. Hi fellas, just released my Alternative R&B EP. Would love to hear what you think, especially about the songs that haven't been released already as singles. Thanks for everyone who has given me feedback during the last two months and helped me with this process, I'm grateful beyond measure.
I'll return all the feedback as usual!
>>54529074
ayyy thanks for the feedback man much appreciated. your music is fucking cool dude. it's almost giving me dxm flashbacks. it feels like a fucking dxm trip so if that's what you were attempting, you were spot on
>>54538496
oh wow man, this is fantastic, i'm really into dark sounding r&b. melancholic atmosphere while being hypersexual. ace production. relaxing. my only wish is that the two songs i listened to had more progression, that might just be a personal preference. anyways, great work.
love,
>>54530173
>>54537726
listened to this yesterday and i don't remember if i gave feedback or not but this is pretty cool stuff. it's aggressive and playful. but the aesthetic is really hindering me from getting too into this. the cartoon shit is just really ugly and clashes with the heavy, sometimes dark music.
>>54535945
this is really boring : ( and at times a bit too sloppy even for punk music.
>>54534597
i like this but it needs some progression and better mixing. personally i think the vocals should be much higher in the mix.
>>54532928
ace production, tasty synths. not something i'd personally listen to but it's well crafted music
>>54530465

>>54532901

>>54531652
i don't understand the appeal. you guys are obviously talented but i couldn't really get into this at all unless i was experiencing it live on some kind of hallucinogen.
>>54531492
consistent delivery of carefully crafted nostalgia from this artist. i'm in love with this release. i'll get around to hearing the rest of it eventually.
>>54529891
gave feedback before, adore it. guitar tone is so tasty and everything is flawlessly mixed.
>>54528741
pretty sweet stuff although the synths sound a bit cheap and the album art is really confusing. other than that, you really know what you're doing

also someone on reddit said something cool some of you might like
"I suspect a connection to Alan Parsons "The Raven" (1976) but can't validate this aside from using the same picture in the video and the album cover and the title of the first song beeing also a text line of the song "The Raven" - "Quoth the Raven, Nevermore".
Coincidently the producers first name is also "Alan".
Aside of that speculation, the song from Alan Parson is an example of proto post rock in a wider sense, cause he tried to use the traditional rock instrumentation in another way."

A while ago, someone linked me to this great experimental rock/indie rock/pop album on bandcamp. It was from this band from Sweden I think, all I can remember about the cover is that it had the name of the band with all their instruments spread out on it like it was a table.

I've had most of this on my hard drive for a few months now but I got into an emo revival phase and sort of abandoned it. A friend of mine died a few weeks ago and all of a sudden finishing it felt like the right thing to do. I'm not gonna try and claim it's fantastic or groundbreaking, or even really that good, but I'm pretty happy with it, I guess.
It's like Touche Amore or La Dispute, but worse, so if you're into that...
