Why do you use that picture?
>>
>>54330917
Because it came up while searching for Julian Gomes, and Martin was it it, so I though why not save it.

Why you ask?

Just wondering, Martin has lots of images on last.fm, thought that was who you were after.

Anyway, what you listening to?

Pic related for me, the album title is very apt.

Turny you're back!

Discovered Owusu and Hannibal last week. 'Maze.
>>
>>54331146
I'm always about and normally who you talk to in here! I just can't always be arsed to put on the trip, depends which computer I'm on too.

Anyhoo, how is that? Seen it on Ubiquity at discogs, never got around to it.
>>
>>54331227
A pretty great electronic soul record. Top-notch production. Owusu's voice is heavenly. I heard of his solo work first-the song 'Goodnight'. It's beautiful.
It's ashame they've only done one album together. But, who know that might do another down the line.

You can hear 'A million babies ' here, and in fact the whole album/majority of songs on youtube.

I'm too picky, I'd rather grab the whole album and enjoy the full thing than the odd song on youtube, thanks for the link though, will grab the album.

What other labels do you like, apart from Ubiquity? Always eager for more.
>>
>>54331423
Gosh, I don't know. I don't really go of labels. I just find artists, and go from there. I would know where to start.

A lot of artists I'm fond of are on/ or have worked with people from Sonar Kollective. So them? KJM's on Compost right? I like BBE and Bittersweet( brokenbeat?)

I'm always looking for more, tho!

>>btw, you type really fast.
>>
>>54331423
I just linked it to give you a flavour of the album!

I might check out Quadron later
>>
>>54331565
I am both anally autistic and extremely bored at work and have the record label in the metadata for every album on my computer, its an old habit and one really relevant in dance music which is where it comes from as a lot of the time, the labels will have a very similar sound, be it jungle and old skool 'ardcore or broken beat. Its a very good way to keep in the loop and discover more.

Go to discogs and check out obvious ones like Tru Thoughts, Freetsyle and shit, you know the ones they were in the original /afgj/ threads.

>>54331596
I know, appreciated, will grab the album though.
>>
>>54331757
True, I guess I'll try to look into labels more.
I don't know what it is, but everytime I try to go on discogs I window either stalls or conks out entirely.

Tru thoughts and freestyle. I keep on hearing of these, I wonder what some of their noticeable artists are.

I've been getting into music a lot lately. I would love to be able to play the piano( and do what Kaidi Tatham does), I'm love to learn how to DJ, as well. Don't know where I'd start, though. Heh.

If you use firefox, install this

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/yesscript/

There are so many shitty scripts on the web that slow down your browser too much these days. Its easier to use than No Script and can just switch on/off quickly.

> I wonder what some of their noticeable artists are.

Tru Thoughts are a personal favourite because they're homegreown Brighton based.

Dunno about piano but this is great for tunrtablism basics

>I know I know
I just like windows interface better, hopefully once I get my new computer I won't have that probably ( don't know why my iPod reacts the same way to, sometimes)

I'll check Tru's catalogue

Yeah sure, I don't specifically search it out but quite happy to, pic related, not all /afgj/ mind

>>54332681
inorite, Robert Luis comps of the label are all good too
>>
>>54332737
Sorry, I don't know what happened to my iPod. I said I wished there was a label for this type of music in Birmingham.

Cool, because I found out about singer Ivan Dorn, while listening to Ben Westbeech music. He's Ukrainian, but sings in Russian. I really need to keep on top of my Russian language studies. :)

>>thanks youtube
If you like Nu-/Acid jazz, deep house, I've think you'd like him.

He was inspired by Jamiroquai, when I listen to some of his tunes, I can tell.

WOW, you are very organised.

Does the country info come with the album, or do you find out yourself?
>>
>>54333407
Pretty good, will give a proper listen later, gotta shoot off and do some work

>>54333646
I was curious one day about a few, a few became a genre and then a week later the whole library. I did it via google, as I say, I have a really boring job.
>>
>>54333717
Ha, you must have. Chat to you later, or you know after the thread 404s, like it usually does. And thanks for giving Ivan a listen!

I've been listening to mostly French stuff, at the mo'.
