I know some people think Tobias is a forced artist, but one listen through that album and it's just straight up pleasant. Guy is tapped into that old charm of songwriters like Randy Newman, Harry Nilsson, Paul Macca, maybe even some Billy Joel, Elton, etc. it's one of the most listenable records this year for sure. I think he dropped the ball a bit on the studio version of 'Without You'. In that Takeaway Show version it gave my chills, I thought it was going to be the easy SOTY and a go-to wedding anthem for years to come... but the production fell a touch short. Still pretty nice though.
Anyways, discard my opinion if you will, but I still like Viet Cong as AOTY so far.

It's just double tracked. But yeah, it's a bit of a stiff performance for such a gorgeous delicate song, the drumming is a bit forced, and the vocals should have been one track with maybe a touch of reverb. But from a songwriting perspective, it's still one of the top 10 songs of the year.
