I listened to that a few a times, it's kind of bad. Aside from some of the more intense parts, it sound like some corny fucking "soft rock for adults" 90s shit.

It's not even dreamy or noisy.

I once saw a chart a pretty long time ago that was a gloom chart with a bunch of different sections. That looked pretty complete but I wouldn't know what to search to look it up on the archive.

I think that's the one.
>>

It's more like proto-shoegaze, which is also really good.

You should have more respect for the 80s, that's when all the good genres were being developed.
>>
>>54114490
the guy didn't say he hated the 80s or anything though. Strange Free World sounds like generic-ass 80s shit. The albums that are actually important don't sound like that.

Can we put more noisy shit on there

Also are the goslings really the noisiest band? There's nothing similar? I listened to Astrobrite and it's not quite the same type of noise, it's a lot softer.
>>
>>54118068
Yeah I'll pretty much listen to anything thrown at me
>>
>>54118146
There's more bands that could fit in there. I'm thinking it should branch into a noise rock cloud so we can include stuff like HEALTH that aren't really shoegaze but almost are.
>>
>>54118179
That sounds like a good idea. The chart develops into several other clouds so a noise rock cloud would be nice.
>>
I tried listening to loveless but that shit just sounds like a mess to me. Something just doesn't click right. what do you guys love so much about this album?
>>
The fact that so many critics still name Loveless as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" Shoegazing album ever only tells you how far shoegazing music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Duke Ellington and John Coltrane, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Shoegazing critics are still blinded by sonic textures. My Bloody Valentine made the best shoegazing album ever (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Shoegazing critics are often totally ignorant of the Shoegazing of today, they barely know anything about DIIV or Whirr. No wonder they will think that the My Bloody Valentine did anything worthy of being saved.
>>
>>54118277
>DIIV or Whirr
Change that to The Goslings and Sweet Trip.
