Would cop those 2 Locked On release.

But honestly there was a period in 06/07 when Grime was so shit (ie. the MCs were all tyring and failing to make Hip-Hop) that it allowed Dubstep, which kind of came around at the same time to overtake it as the current UK underground scene.

Someone recommend me their favorite Jungle release/song/ep/whatever

Also does anyone have some minimalism inspired electronics/techno? Like the beats gradually change over a long period of time over every bar of the song.

it's just one of those things on /mu/. it's cool to say you hate Aphex Twin and love "real" electronic music like Stockhausen.
>>
>>53958524
I mean, I know their are better artists even in Aphexs respected genres, but im not gonna deny i am a big fan and he makes really good music.

I know IDM is hated here and for the most part it is mediocre but occationaly there is a good release in it

Everyone already knows about Aphex Twin. It's more a case that outside of /bleep/, if you asked someone if they listened to electronic music the response would be "oh yeah, Aphex Twin, Amon Tobin, Venetian Snares, I could go on."

Also there's the somewhat divided opinion that IDM isn't /bleep/ and is actually /bloop/ but who the fuck even cares about it to that extent.
>>
>>53958603
I know i should lurk more, but i dont get the difference between /bleep/ and /bloop/

One in the domain of techno and dance while the otheres are like ambient and non dancey genres right?

I never see /bloop/ anyways

If you care about it enough to check out LPs (inb4 >Jungle, >LPs) then I'd recommend the following.

Omni Trio - The Deepest Cut Vol. 1
Bizzy B - Retrospective
Kemet Crew - Champion Jungle Sound
Soundmurderer & SK-1 - Rewind Records
4 Hero - Parallel Universe
>>
>>53958558
i really love him, so i'm naturally biased. i hate a lot of other electronic music.

>>53958603
>>53958623
those guys are the prime examples of what they do though. but i also don't think the distinction is relevant, to be honest. it's just electronic music. i mean, i know Stockhausen, Plastikman, Amon Tobin, Aphex Twin, and Herbert are VASTLY different musicians. but who even cares?
>>
>>53958623
/bleep/ = dance music
/bloop/ = not dance music but still electronic

Several people will bullshit about what is and isn't /bleep/, in it's early days it was just the general for electronic music other than Aphex Twin/the rest of the shit /mu/ listened to. Before it there used to be seperate threads of electronic sub-genres but they never lasted as long, hence the amalgamation.

I never go into /bloop/ threads but I don't see them often either.
>>
>>53958603
More like
>do you listened to electronic music
>yeah, trance, list could go on

Btw Aphex Twin usersumethin tracks are really great and often /bleepy:
>>
>>53958643
I love the album format simply because it is more convenient. Honestly, coming from being a huge noise rock/post hardcore fan, I am adapting to the singles/EP stuff that people do in the Techno World.

I used to hate Electronic shit, but lately I have found myself in love with it, and i feel it's not just a stage but something more.

been a good week for bleepz
>>
>>53958657
>those guys are the prime examples of what they do though
To some extent, perhaps. But the point is when you have only heard of those three or so artists, firstly you can't really discuss that much and secondly you are ignoring a vast amount of other electronic subgenres and equally if not more talented producers.

For example if someone only listened to Aphex Twin might they have heard this track?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEQkLgXZb4U
Because he obviously likes it enough to play it in a set.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK4dkgS6CYQ

A good example of only listening to one artist and having that affect your perception is in the comments of that AFX vid, where a guy thinks sampling a dub siren is a totally unique thing that you might only hear on a Aphex Twin album and not in fucking every breakbeat track made since the 90s.

>>
>>53958781
nah i totally understand what you mean. i just don't get that, i've never had that problem. i love all the guys we just mentioned, but i also love a lot of totally different electronic music. i guess it's easy to not realize how vast this stuff is. most people don't know what they're missing. it's like, you don't know how much you really don't know. that being said, i don't want to hate on any fans of Aphex or Autechre or whoever because i love those guys too
>>

i dont think anyone hates aphex - it's just a thing people say because /mu/ (the board that unironically listens to Death grips) also like aphex or at least claim they do

i personally love his stuff and think hes one of the best electronic music producers of all time

but a lot of his stuff isnt bleep, or least not in today's climate
>>
ninja can a man have a link to the new mega?
>>
>>53958898
i think that's the main problem with him. people who like him like him for his general approach and attitude toward music, but people who don't like him don't like him for exactly that.

and now we have /bleep/, which basically means nothing.
>>
>>53958840
It's very easy for people to say they like something without exploring it in full, everyone does it to some extent. It's usually not a problem provided you are open to the fact that other things are out there even if you chose not to listen to them. But to be narrow minded and then make statements like "VSnares is the best breakcore producer ever so I'm not going to bother listening to any others" is why these threads were made, because that mentality is prevalent on /mu/.

>>53958848
First track was banging Jungle, rest was all pretty decent. Last track was the weakest but that's because it was the least D&B out of the lot. I've never been hugely into Sam Binga but I've always liked Om Unit.
>>
>>53958924
New Mega as in the Breakbeat Hardcore/Jungle/D&B mega or the Breakbeat Hardcore/UKG/Grime mega (which currently does not have a huge amount in it)?
