Have you even been to Hong Kong?
Its a metropolis of 24 hour a day manicness that makes New York look sleepy.
Just because 1/5 of the main island is country park, Lamma would be better, Peng Chou maybe, not Hong Kong though.

>Have you even been to Hong Kong?
I lived there for two whole semesters.

Exactly. Hence the album.

But its downtempo.
your childhood home after its inhabitants have all left one way or another and the abandoned possesions and mementos are gathering dust.

>But its downtempo.
So?
It's about when the city finally goes to sleep, and the lights dim down. It's raining. It's pouring down on the little fishing boats in Stanley. It's about that subtle noise the thin, tin roofs in Kennedy Town are making, when the monsoon comes.
Hong Kong is not just busy-busy-no-relaxey. Admittedly, it's hectic. However, it knows when to calm down, and uses that limited time-frame very efficiently.

Not sure off the top of my head, the city was a mix between party central and the most manic city I've experienced.

This used to be my Saturday night soundtrack, and that song is currently one of my favourite songs ever. Currently I replaced Twentythree with pic related, pretty similar mood, but more guitars (and no radio transmissions and field recordings ;_;)
