What are some objective masterpieces of their genre?
I'm not asking for your 10/10's, or your personal favorites; I'm asking for albums that, regardless of your appreciation of them, are undeniably the most well executed of their particular genre.

IDK, the core principles of the album are pretty much Psych-Rock. Certainly it isn't an ordinary Psych album but the idea of the semi-hallucinogenic interludes and sound collages is arguably very much a Psychedelic ideal.

Remember the thread is masterpieces, not necessarily the sole best of the genre. I think we can agree these are all fantastic. Which one is the best is definitely open for debate though. As for modern day, D'Angelo is unfortunately untouched.

I used to think that too until I started learning about production and mixing and what it means to make a good recording. Rated R is better.
