I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, I prefer Big Band/Dixieland/Ragtime/Stride Piano to any kind of Bop. Although Bird is my favorite musician of all time.

i've played it a couple times, but i haven't really listened to it closely. it's definitely not swing/bop oriented. not completely extemporaneous, but it's close to free/improvised music.

I never liked him very much, though I respect what he does. He just feels too cold for me. Zero swing. This album is still good, but not my cup of tea. Maybe I'll keep trying since I was intrigued by its sparseness and the ambience of the album's sound
