Vomir - Claustration

It's not necessarily abrasive or hard to listen to, it's just really hard to listen to the entire album considering every track sounds the same and every second sounds like the last...it's a fucking long, dull album.

Cromagnon - Orgasm

The first song is truly a masterpiece, it sounds like straight up black metal and this shit it from 1969:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPiO_G-DEHs
just skip past the stupid intro ;(
but anyways, the entire rest of the album is grunting, screaming, various noises, anyone who claims to enjoy this album is pretentious and full of shit.
>>
Probably this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEHHYlR3je0

Or Surface by Five Star Hotel which is basically white noise shadowing hip hop beats

Lmao. I'll give it a go, man, wish me luck

I'm back, that was a trip. It was like a marching song before war, where they brandish bagpipes. That outro though, what is going on? And is the rest of the album similar?

I get the ideas of "art" and "making a statement" behind most noise, but honestly, why the fuck would someone waste their time with this album? Especially when there's decent noise out there, that isn't just a fucking wall of the same pitch of static for 4 hours.

>>53322894
It's in my top 5 for sure. It's just incredibly accomplished, it's so dense and multi-layered, with so much detail to unpack. Tom folded an incredible number of things into this, it really rewards repeated listening. It's also viscerally quite gripping, not just a mental mindfuck.
>>
Abrasiveness/loudness plateaus once you get to harsh noise/power electronics/death industrial. Venereology by Merzbow is my reference point for "harshest":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7Jwrg0but8
But you can probably find tons of similar albums that are about as harsh. It's easy to get that loud, and impossible to get significantly louder.

Inaccessibility is a completely different story — and it's a lot more subjective. Throbbing Gristle and NON sound good to me, but a lot of opera works just stress me out. I have trouble with a lot of contemporary composers, like Xenakis. Noise that features not crushing slabs of sound is okay, but irregular outbursts of noise is just very unpleasant to listen to for me, it's pretty much the equivalent of jump scares in movies or video games. Free jazz is kinda hard to get into, though I think I'm slowly beginning to "get it", I still don't enjoy it that much.

I would also recommend Diamanda Galás if you're looking for harsh/disturbing/inaccessible music.
>>
>>53317730
indeed, one of the worst ''music'' i've ever heard, and I'm a fan on noise.
>>53317781
I liked the whole album and I'm serious.
>>
it's somehow subjective what kind of noise is harsher but i found this album to be on top of list for me:

>irregular outbursts of noise is just very unpleasant to listen to for me

That's why I mentioned Runzelstirn & Gurgelstock earlier. Way more challenging than something like Merzbow or HNW.

I agree with you on those points, and it's not like I thought it was trash, but the recording quality could've been much higher, and I think it would've served it's detailed lyrics more by using less distortion on them

Hi-fi production would not have served it well, that was not the intent. You can read the lyrics if you want to try to parse them, I don't think sacrificing artistic approach for lyric clarity in the vocals is a good idea.
