I've heard people call Black Moth Super Rainbow noisy. I guess I can see it, but it just seems like a lack of understand as to what a synthesizer can do.
Regardless, there's definitely a lot of thickness in a lot of BMSR songs, whether it be the vocoder or something else.

imo, a single good riff or an idea stretched out into a whole song is miles ahead a single good idea that lasts for 15 seconds/5 minutes in a tune/album respectively.
