Who are the best songwriters/songwriting teams of all time?
Obviously John & Paul are up there but what are some others I should listen to? And who was better between those two?
Future islands' lead singer

Paul -> better pop artist

Michael Catano, Mark Mullane, and Mark Colavecchia of the Canadian band North of America.
These guys were on a totally level plane creatively.
Devin Ocampo and Chad Molter of Faraquet/Medications. Very similar vision as perpetual band mates and matured well together over the years.
J. Robbins Bill Barbot are the all time Batman & Robin post-hardcore superhero-sidekick songwriting team.

>Paul made shit music for grandmas
i love how people use this phrasing when they say paul's music was bad or hokey because it's literally a lennon quote. can you not think for yourself?
>>53154341
paul and lennon were on equal footing songwriting wise. lennon was more introspective and experiment but mccartney had one of the best ears for pop the world will ever know.
check out brian wilson (the beach boys) if you haven't already and if you liked paul's approach to pop songwriting. he took a lot of inspiration from wilson around '66 and '67.
