We're not, it's just not what we want to discuss. /bleep/ is primarily for club music and culture, stuff that you would hear in a quality European venue or festival, and secondarily an enclave to keep out the retarded masses that populate /mu/. Though many here enjoy /bloop/, it largely fails both criteria, since IDM is rare in clubs and /mu/tards love it.

No, I think most of us either like it or don't care enough to have a strong opinion.

Got something both /bleep/ and /bloop/ will love I think.

"It currently seems like every man and his frog is busy tweaking modular synths or just building them to look at but how many of those folk are actually making “Tunes”. Not many at all, with most creating soundscapes or bloopy bleepy experimental widdle fests which is all well and good but you know, it’s nice to get some tunes sometimes. This is where Bass Clef and his current setup show’s how it can and should be done.

Whilst almost strangling himself to death in a maze of patch cables he knocked out opening tune ‘Sometimes the Only Way Out is to Go Further In’ a joyous piece of good vibes analogue techno with functional kicks, funky snares, warm bass and layers of filtered melodies. ‘Elsewhen’ is very almost a dead ringer for Throbbing Gristle’s ‘Hot On the Heels of Love’ revamped with some acidic flourishes. ‘Faster Than the Speed of Love’ is a mid-tempo cut with chunky stomping drums and a riff that gets right inside your cranium and straight to the pleasure sensors. It’s somewhere between emotive Chicago acid house and Detroit techno and is a total beauty. Beneath ‘Neon Black and Vulcane’ lurks a Basic Channel / Maurizio flavoured groove around which all manner of swirling cyberdelic analogue action is happening. Across all three tracks things keep moving, loops just holding down a groove while other sounds are evolving in a constant state of flux with so much happening you never really know where things will go. This is dynamic expertly crafted techno from an immensely gifted and talented artist."

Tons of IDM is clubby, particularly first wave IDM and most european IDM. /bleep/ needs to be less about semantics what belongs where, and more about vibes of any kind - be them /bleep/ or /bloop/ or even /twang/.

It looks like I'm asking way too much with this unfortunately.

but i wanted to talk about it in the /bleep/ context and also in regards to sending demos to labels etc. because labels and releases in this format operate in a specific way

>you don't get to decide what we should be about. Same way I don't butt into /kpop/ and tell them they should discuss Mongolian folk pop.
I don't decide, I'm being nostalgic for a simpler time back when people would post about the latest Pan Sonic and Fennesz album and then have a reasonable discussion without anyone getting booty blasted and then redirecting them to an imaginary place. The first 10-20 /bleep/ threads were some quality stuff mate. The first /bloop/ general also happened to be a breaks/UK Rave general because /bleep/ was dominated by trendy euro bleeps at the time.

Someone start a /bleop/ general for the stuff that's in between /bleep/ and /bloop/ since as it stands everything /bleop/ is discussed in /bleep/ due to /bloop/ being a dead place.
>>
>>52942447
Not at all, whereas /mu/ treats them like gospel, /bleep/ doesn't particularly care about the RA reviews, when have you ever seen a score mentioned here?
RA's features, podcast and of course the club listings are what redeem it.

A shortlived to general for fat neckband to scared to go clubbing so listened to IDM because they thought it made them look intelligent and superior because of the genre name.
