Chords themselves aren't all that great. chord progressions are where its at.

saying that I wrote a huge chord for this orchestral piece.

Flute: Highest B
Clarinet: Low B, C#, high C#
Oboe: Low C#
French Horns: C#, E, B, C#
Trombones: C#, C# 2 octaves up
Trumpets: C#, B, C#
Violin: G#, B, C#, B
Viola: C#, D# (becomes D#, E)
Cello: C#, G#, B, E
Contrabass: C#

Chords aren't always about just the notes, with orchestral music its about doubling and chord colors. certain combinations will give darker or brighter chords.

This chord was supposed to evoke massive space.

sounds like this:

I don't think it does that entirely in the four second sample you provided. Where does it go from there? I've never written anything for an orchestra.

Classic E Maj 7

i am mildly interested in who you are in real life and what kind of music you have released/worked on in your life

also:

Amaj7, Amaj7, G#7, G#7,
Amaj7, Amaj7, G#7, G#7,
F#min7, Fmin6, Dmaj6, C#7,
Bmin7, Bmin7, A#maj7, Gmin7,
Amaj7, Amaj7, Amaj7, Amaj7...

i like that progression a lot
>>
I really like the sound of Amaj7

actually change those Amaj7's at the end to Amaj6's....

yeah that's it....

This is what I have so far: (only just over a minute)
https://clyp.it/isji1mxq

The piece is inspired by the landscape of pic related: huge spaces, so trying to get those huge rolling hills into the music... seems to be working so far. hopefully once its finished I can convince a local orchestra to actually play it.

no, sax player. It feels slightly latin when it's E B D F# G. Ravel also did something like that in ma mere l'oye
>>
>>52886275

sounds like dvorak
>>
>>52886275
that's the interval that iPhone ringtone uses. That's all I could think of lol. I liked the oboe line starting at one minute, I feel like that could develop into a really cool counter melody
>>
>>52886275
That was very nice. Loved the wind arpeggi starting at about :56.

>>52886405
Two of Us by the Beatles uses that major sixth interval as well.
