do these guys have an album
>>52760808
they have four.
>>52760835
oo, ill go check the archive
>tfw I'm the only one that likes this and everyone on mu is wrong about it
>>52760934
only whirr's eps are good
it's always like, their albums start out really strong, and by the middle you get bored.
so who's heard this?
>>52760934
I like it too anon don't worry
Sway is surprisingly alright too, odd hearing them with male vocals though
I'd like to be sad but also burst my eardrums what do it do
>>52761647
i just realized someday has the same beat as to fix the gash in your head
>>52760968
I get that with Toss and Home is where..
but Flashback,Fomulas and Frequencies, Hide, and Wait has plenty of feels
>>52760934
I like it too, anon. I just can't understand why /mu/ disliked this album. Seriously, the tracks looks so creative etc. Also, Bogus is a really good track.
>gaze
>>>/lgbt/
why in gods fucking green earth would i listen to shoegaze released after 1995
>>52760808
The Black Sun, Immaterial Visions and Minus One are their best.
>>52760934
I'm sure nobody hates the album, just the band itself, they're all cocky gits.
>>52763403
epin /b/ro
>>52764564
If I uploaded shoegaze album relased in 2014 but tagged it as 1994, would you know the difference?
>>52764685
I guess that depends on the album
What are some artists we should be watching out for?
So far, I've thought of No Joy, A Place to Bury Strangers, Ceremony, Whirr, and Have a Nice Life.
I'm hoping we can add a lot to this list.
What do you guys think of Catherine Wheel?
>>52765706
Nothing
>>52765866
I was considering them but I don't like them so I didn't add Nothing to the list but yeah people like them so they probably should be on.
>>52765866
Britpop with loud guitars. I REALLY don't like shoegaze like that it is so fucking boring and all sounds the same to me. Maybe I'm being an avant-teen.
>>52765960
do you lilke
the goslings
>>52765960
>Catherine Wheel
>Britpop
I would have been alright with alternative, but they really don't don't sound like Britpop
>>52765706
BRAXTON THE PORCUPINE
What do you think about Noisey's listener poll voting Nothing's Guilty of Everything AOTY? Agree? Disagree?
I like it a lot, but I'm not sure if it was that good.
>>52766047
I didn't enjoy it. None of the guitar effects were interesting, by shoegaze standards, and the songwriting wasn't anything very interesting, as far a I remember. My memory of the album is pretty fuzzy so I might have to revisit it or something, but that's what I thought about it when it came out.
>AP doing an article about the "Shoegaze revival"
They used to be a great publication in the 90s, but not too much anymore
http://www.altpress.com/features/entry/everything_you_need_to_know_about_the_impending_shoegaze_revival
atmospheric rock
Does anyone else prefer this album to Grandeur of Hair?
>>52765984
Sort of. Nice sounds.
>>52765989
Yeah, ok I'll be corrected on that it's really not britpop. Still boring & derivative
bumpu
>>52766681
I remember this from /mu/chella
I have a couple vaguely shoegazey recordings, would anyone be willing to give me some feedback?
>>52770040
idk post them anyway
They're just guitar tracks, but w/e
>https://soundcloud.com/formerlyknownasmousecop/play-defense
>https://soundcloud.com/formerlyknownasmousecop/at-the-basement-show-2
second one is a new version of this:
I think I prefer the overall aesthetic/sound of the old one, however the new recording is more completely from a songwriting standpoint, and I like how the production effects make the open strings sound like a synth/voice. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-80E_FRMuM
pretty funny concept
i like it
nobody talks about this band enough, but they are easily one of the best shoegazey bands of all time. kurt vile ended up playing backing guitar for them during the late nineties when he was just starting out, i thouroughly recommend them
>>52771813
pic related recommend anyone to check this or other releases out
>>52771813
sneaky flutes
It's like every little detail is so deliberate. Each little percussive glitch snippet seems to add to the music's effect. Like they're not being detailed for the sake of being detailed.
>>52770148
anybody pls, I posted this shit for like a week in sc threads and got 0 feedback (oddly enough my half-assed noise pieces always got a ton of attention, for better or worse)
>>52760748
My favorite album is the Asobi Seksu self-titled. It was the album that got me into shoegaze and it quickly became my favorite genre and opened me up to a world of music I never cared to try. They're very special to me.
>>52773132
do you like sneaky flute music?
>>52773437
Got any links? I can't seem to find anything, but willing to give it a listen.
Is anyone else hyped for the upcoming APTBS?
>>52773519
The pic is actually Blonder Tongue Audio Baton by the band Swirlies. They say they make "sneaky flute" music. I'm not sure what it means.

>>52764564
Cause modern shoegaze is better ya pleb
>>52764664
Theyre nice as fuck just act like trolls online. not too hard to get
>>52766047
Was my aoty too. cant wait to see them live in feb
It's cool that they have a more original sound now, but I liked their pre-Worship stuff music more.
>>52773555
I really like that, definitely gonna listen to more of them.
>>52773643
They're one of the more inventive shoegaze bands I know of. I'm really into that whole "gently but plainly sung female" vocal style.
>>52773661
I really like that style too. You ever listen to My Dead Girlfriend?
>>52773712
nope, what are they like?
>>52772830
Reminder that there will never be an album as good as this ever again.
They're a little bland but I'm really starting to like DIIV.
Checked out Oshin after the Dev-Chan fisaco, now it's grown on me.
>>52773752
I might be okay with that. Their third album is fantastic too.
They are like the last band I think I would be seriously excited if I heard they are releasing new music. Did you hear that song they released during the summer?
>>52773737
Hard to describe, but they've definitely got the gentle but plain female vocals. They're also Japanese.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D6kj2R5JUY
>>52773784
>Did you hear that song they released during the summer
I tried to listen to it not that long ago and it was deleted from soundcloud I think. It's on What though so I'll just download it from there.
>>52773799
https://soundcloud.com/wotf/things-to-ponder-while-falling
nope, it's still there
>>52773812
>Probably *not* the last Sweet Trip song ever.
fuck me
What the fuck is "cloggaze"? I see this as a tag on some shoegaze albums on What.
>>52773890
I don't have an account, but which albums?
>>52773890
Some tag someone added to a few shoegaze torrents for the hell of it, as a joke.
>>52773897
A Place to Bury Strangers - A Place to Bury Strangers
Loop - Heaven's End
Loop - A Gilded Eternity
Ceremony - Distance
Loop - Fade Out
The Lost Rivers - Sin And Lostness
Weekend - Sports
Ceremony & Screen Vinyl Image - Ceremony / Screen Vinyl Image Split
The Lost Rivers - My Beatific Vision
Skywave - Synthstatic
Thats every album tagged as cloggaze.
>>52773938
If you look on the logs, it was all added by the same guy, drij.
Man I wish I hadn't turned in the hat so soon, because the more I listen to this new Diviend album the closer it becomes to my shoegaze AOTY. It just came out so close to the end of the year that I couldn't give it too many listens before 2015. What do you guys think?
>>52773934
>>52773938
>>52773957
huh it probably is just a joke
>>52773957
Clearly hes a big memer, but what does it mean?
Stay noisy
>there will be no more lsd and the search for god releases
>>52774012
If I had released a GOAT EP, I'd be pretty scared of releasing anything to follow it too.
Their single that came after it was pretty good though.
>>52773990
>Dead Moon Night
dope
Thoughts on Another Green World?
So, what's better?
>>52773568
Nothing were actually really good live, kind of weird that they would play in a library of all places though considering that they're loud as fuck.
>>52774382
play where you can, i guess
>>52774326
both are shit but no joy probably.
