i went to pic related. thought dub phizix did the best set of the night. tunes like buffalo obviously popped the fuck off
then i probably liked flava d and moony the best. all that wonky bassline house garage stuff is like the perfect thing to give you enough energy towards the end. they also had some banging remixes of some big 2014 anthems.
newham gens were a'ight, but i've seen them so many times now, that i don't really care. mj cole was okay as well but a bit standard. he played his azealia banks tune, which went down pretty well. digital mystikz were fine too, but i always get kinda sick of the spongebob and goblin mosh pits
the worst was fucking congo natty. the music he does play is good, but the problem is that he only spends about 50% of his set playing tunes. he spends the rest of it banging on into his microphone about how "we are the revolution" and getting people to like chant mark duggan's name and doing all these junglist and jah prayers
oval space is a seriously banging venue and they filled it perfectly. it did feel packed but there was also lots of room to dance and move
the security is probably the laxest i've ever seen. they didn't even pretend to pat people down. every single person just got waved through without so much as even putting a hand in their pocket
meant there were some real messes in there tho. one guy jumped on the stage and started dancing and then when a bouncer tried to get him off, this dude started punching and attacking the bouncer. was pretty weird to watch

everyone i was with agreed that dub phizix was the best of the night. he just played his minimal dnb sound, as you'd expect, but it was wicked. the best thing tho was strategy. he's such a sick mc a nice balance between mcing and hosting. he was also coming up with all this sick "off the dome" stuff. like every single thing he said all night rhymed. like this girl got up on someone's shoulders near the front, and he spent ages coming up with all these bars about her "stripy shirt" haha

also just remembering that congo natty overran his set time for 30 fucking minutes which pissed me off a bit. so flava d and moony had their set crushed into 5:30 - 6:00. perhaps that was why i thought their set was so good, because they removed half the tunes they would have played, leaving just total bangers
