One rec for everybody is Ohama, kind of an obscure Canadian synth artist who put out some good quality stuff. The Potato Farm Tapes is a good place to start.

Btw, I recently listened to Comsat Angels after a while and loved them more than I did.
They are so good and sadly underrated.

Bela Lugosi's Dead is an all-time favourite but that was a single.
The first 3 songs from In The Flat Field are great, but towards the back half the album loses momentum.
Burning From The Inside is definitely underrated and a lot, lot better than Mask.
Siouxsie hasn't been posted yet, so this is also a reminder to listen to JuJu.

It is not about Gang of Four actually. I don't like upbeat guitar music much. Gang of Four is the one which make this kind of music solidly but after all you can't enjoy a very well baked potato if you hate potatoes.
It was just an example though, I adore potatoes more than any other meal.

I think that Unknown Pleasures isn't as good as it is influential. The best songs are Disorder and She's Lost Control where the guitarist is allowed to have a riff.

Krautrock is the only thing that holds a candle, but you could probably only name a couple dozen truly great Krautrock albums. Post-Punk has hundreds of classics.

Krautrock is good, but I wouldn't consider it a contender. I feel that it doesn't has enough highlights as it should (but that's maybe because I don't listen to a lot of it)
