Copeland surprised me - definitely a top 10.... it is that good. But Swans is the correct answer.
Was torn between this and Lese Majesty, but it boiled down to "which album has a better shot of getting bumped up to a 5 on RYM over time?" and "which album will i associate with 2014 when i think back to this year"? As of right now, i'd say i slightly prefer Shabazz, but when i answer both of those questions, this album wins out.

It's the epitome of "blissful". The album invokes its title in its sound in the best of ways, and it's exactly the type of album I needed this year. If there's any album who's sound perfectly matches up with my mind set on life, at least at the moment, it's Lost in the Dream.

You might like Drudkh. Check out Autumn Aura, Blood In Our Wells, or Songs of Grief and Solitude (acoustic/instrumental). The first two albums still have growls but they're a little more spread out.
