I've been challenging myself to produce using only Ableton 9's built in studio and effects and so far it's been very good for me.

I'm still getting the hang of mastering stereo panning, but practice makes perfect.

Lol, I know what you mean, but it's totally not that bullshit tier stuff. You know those little obstacle course games where you put the headband on and the more you concentrate, the more air is blown and the ball raises? It's something like that.

Technically he's making his lungs an instrument.
A pulsox can't measure heart rate, it can only extrapolate it using blood oxygenation levels.

How do I make sweet dub mixes like this? I have a mixer that can do this type of routing, but is there a way I can avoid shelling out the dough for an interface with 8+ channels of outputs?

not really, or you could buy loads of cheap old shitey cassette tape players and record every track to a casette and play them that way, or maybe CDs or whatever is the cheapest form of media storage

>Tipper is amazingly amazing
I don't like his music that much but from a production standpoint, that sound design is god tier. I'm curious to know how he did all that, there was probably a lot of sampling and recording involved.
>>
>>52239102
I'm pretty sure they're prerecorded tracks, that or he's dubbing a live band, which doesn't seem right. The tape is done in realtime, he assigns tape to a mixer channel so he can feed it back in to the tape machine.

Moogs aren't fun to sequence if they're old ones. You need to make a special cable to make it work with anything not Moog.

Can anyone give me a bit of advice, I'm a bit confused as to whether to buy something like the Akai MPD32 for use with logic and its EXS24 sampler or something like Machine or Akai renaissance?
As far as I'm aware all these machines are hardware controllers for software samplers. (Apart from obviously the Ren having a audio interface)
It doesn't seem like anyone seems to actually talk about the software thats bundled with these machines because they are too busy waking on about workflows and how amazing they are?
What do you guys think?

My latest classical-psytrance-nu-jazz-ambient project.
What I was trying to do is make the percussion's rhytm extremally ungroovy, cold and incisive, almost unfitting to the rest of the track. It's not done yet, needs some volume automating and mastering. Well, any kind of constructive criticism would be appreciated. ^_~

Nah, m8 I need to invent a way to make piano sound good with electronic drums and shit like that.I've barely heard anyone doing it right so I treat it as a quest of my life.
>>
>>52242700
Simple melodies, sidechain compression and sustain pedal.
>>
>>52242700
Heavy gain and chorus makes my piano work in most cases I need, but most people aren't fortunate enough to have an acoustic grand piano, or even an amplifier.
>>
>>52242767
>sustain pedal
Yeah, that's exactly what I need. Too bad the best way I could find for it is automating the sampler's decay. Got a better idea?
>>
>>52242821
Compression.

Or find a piano VST.
>>
>>52242808
So you own an acoustic grand piano? Must feel great to hear the real reverb and key pressure. I can't really play a piano tbh ;_;
>>
so i've been wanting to try my hand at remixing and production... what should my first step be?
>>
>>52242915
Google.
>>
>>52242915
i'd say find a remix contest on http://www.remixcomps.com/ for instance that suits you, download the stems and start messing around?
>>
>>52242871
There's nothing like having a real piano, the way the strings respond to the hammers, and each other. The Nord stage is the best alternative, and it doesn't even compare. What's nice about it having pickups is that when I'm playing though a distorted amp, I still have the clairity of the acoustic sound that rings through the top end.

What he does with his sound is pretty cool but the way he plays is too sloppy. Romantic era classical chords and harmonies is what makes piano a beautiful instrument imho.

I'm trying to load a 32-bit VST (VOPM) on Logic and I can't find any way to do it. The two plugins that I thought would work (Patchwork and Metaplugin) only support 64.

then start the DAW and as I remember all the plugins are in a folder/menu thing named something like '32 bit ports'
