This forever and always will remain the single best french house track ever.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxBdUIlhxo8
>>52137255
How? Literally nothing happens in the track. He just plays with the sample a bit and it goes nowhere.
>>52137398
>it's too repetitive, it goes nowhere
This is something that someone who doesn't listen to dance music would say
hot bangers incoming
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2UA0VG-wms
>>52137398
The sample playing is what makes it great, and it does build up to the certain point where the short funk guitar sample starts rolling throughout the track up until the very end. The single version's duration is obviously based on the fact that it's a club track/supposed to be used in DJ mixing, it's the video version which cuts 2-3 minutes of repetition and turns the track into a solid pop single.
Alan Braxe is a seriously cool guy.

what can I do with an mpd32 and a simple midi keyboard? I can't even figure out how to connect it up to cubase, what kinds of things could i do with that combo? I'm just looking for general ideas, I am interested in midi sequencing but have yet to use the mpd

you can literally do anything with that combo, pirate ableton, get some VST's learn how to use midi, and you've got pretty much every base covered.

its nothing to do with euro vs america tbh. the term 'EDM' is an american term, sure, but that music is prevalent in all parts of the world. by 'that music' i mean mainstream lowest-common-denominator artists like martin garrix and above & beyond and hardwell and tiesto and avicii.
in these threads, and in the dance music community in general, people distance themselves from the term 'EDM' because it doesnt just mean Electronic Dance Music, it has connotations with a very specific type of dance music. what we talk about in these thread is very, very different to that kind of music.
>>52146018

Anyone else feel like house and techno are just all-around bland to their very respective cores?
Usually i can enjoy music that stands out by its own and doesn't need unnecessary fusions to make it listenable but /bleep/ is only bearable when it brings in outside influences
idk it really is amazing how one simple 4-second break can make such a massive difference to the overall sound and culture of dance music
>>52148732
nah right now house and techno is the only music that really does it for me
listening to a good hour long house/techno mix is just like a relentless onslaught on your body
>>52148732
what do u mean? if u just wanna go to a club, dance for 6 hours or w/ever, zone out, forget about regular life, be lost in the mix, then there's really nothing better than house and techno
also i love that feeling in techno, which i feel is exclusive to techno, when the dj mixes a tune into a much more high energy tune and the crowd feels the shift and everything around you speeds up and people whistle and shout
>>52148866
>, when the dj mixes a tune into a much more high energy tune and the crowd feels the shift
yea i love this, the best is when a DJ goes from techno to a grime or bassline tune and its just like this explosion of energy
>>52148881
nah, nah. i know what you mean, but this is different
what you're describing is like when something nasty drops and people stop dancing and start jumping around going nuts and shouting "woiiiiiiii" and it's really aggressive. like pulse x or hackney parrot or something
i mean like when one techno tune slowly beings to transition into a much harder (perhaps even up tempo) one and people carry on dancing as they were but with a bit more energy and like girls hold their drinks up above their heads, and people at the back whistle, and people grin at each other and it's like "here we go!!"
i'll try to find some examples haha
