I don't get why these are loved so much. The interface seems pretty average and the screen looks really tiny. I'm assuming it's just a reasonably priced, long lasting player?
Get a Fiios player. They have good sound tech as far as I've read. Like, on par with Pono but much less expensive/brandy.

Ipod touches are garbage compared to the classic. Even if a Touch was 300 terrabytes and the classic was only 80gb the classic would still be better due to the interface. Fuck trying to use an iphone or ipod touch when driving. a simple task like switching tracks could get you killed.

I doubt we'll see 256GB iPod Touches. Not when Apple seem to be pushing iPhones with greater internal storage and the lack of newer iPod models
I still have an old 80GB iPod video. Have Rockbox installed on it since I like the UI better and don't have to use iTunes (though there are plenty of other things that I could use to sync, like Foobar). Still, the installation gets corrupted more than I like it to.
Planning on getting a phone with a microSD expansion slot next time I get a phone upgrade and getting a 128GB microSD card to put music on.

well you feel that way but for most people (even the ones that have a large music library) they would rather get a touch to have apps, games, instagram, facebook, camera, etc. dedicated music players don't make sense for a company like apple any more, maybe for companies with niche audiences

I'd like to see this happen, recently got myself a 160gb classic and even that took a little looking around to find one that wasn't like £300+ on ebay. I guess its a symptom of streaming sites getting more popular but since the classic got discontinued there doesn't seem to be any new mp3 players with a capacity over 80gb or so unless Archos or someone are still doing large sized models, I haven't checked very thoroughly
