I like your music, as much as it isn't really my style, but i'd love to hear it more with higher recording quality and stuff like that. I'd like to hear what you'd make in a studio with all the equipment you want.

ur pretty.
have a good day.
your music reminds me of blackmill and the "chillstep" crowd. if that's what you were aiming for, congrats!
>>51565134
Thanks man. My policy is to just follow everyone and casually listen to stuff (unless it really grabs me in the first little bit) but for people who follow me back I give a few of their songs a good listen, and if I feel compelled to make a comment, I do so.

Keep in mind everything on my soundcloud is currently a meme and I'm just experimenting with production and learning piano, I've written a few half songs but haven't recorded all the parts yet.
Hope you like them when they exist one day.
>>51565218
I think that counts for most of us here bro
at least, it does for me
>>51565171
thank you!
>>51565177
Fucking intense
>>51565218
Sounds good, looking forward to hearing them then.
>>51565175
I personally can't do that. i can only follow people i'd die to hear more from. I have some weird things I do like that.
for example i go through my likes and remove the things i no longer "get that feeling" over.
I can't understand people like you who follow and like everyone and everything. do you ever listen back through your likes? mmm... but, to each their own i guess.
>>51565298
Doesn't sound that weird to me, although I wouldn't feel cool about unliking things i liked earlier
Guys I really want to start making music, I'm planning on taking vocal lessons soon but I don't know if it's worth it, should I bother?

I follow everyone, but by no means do I offer likes/comments frivolously, only when I feel compelled to do so. My attitude towards adding everyone is..why not? Never know what you're going to discover here, might as well take a sample of everything and stay a little longer for stuff that connects with you.
I also don't feel the need to only like stuff I plan on re-listening to. To me a like is more about showing support for the other person, like "hey, that was cool, keep it up!" rather than as a marker of something I want to return to.
But as you say, just different attitudes.

>Avant-Garde Punk/ Funk / Mariachi
>>51565330
i find that a certain sound will wear on you over several listens. i have no clue why i do it, i guess it's just turned into a habit, so much so that when people don't do it.
>>51565335
i'd say look into vocal lessons. what style are you trying to replicate (or what's closest)? what are a few vocalists you'd say you look up to?
i personally wouldn't recommend doing anything in your falsetto range without lessons. personally i think it's kinda cringy, but that's just me. hope all goes well for you.
>>51565440
I'm not a 14 year old girl, I'm not trying to replicate anything.
I listen to way too many vocalists to specify any inspiration, although I grew up listening to Jeff Buckley
>>51565389
mmm, i see what you're saying, but i feel if i follow too many people because "why not", the artists i care most about will just be lost in the clutter of the stream.
that's true about liking things though, i'll try to see it more like that in the future.
thankyou for taking your time to explain though!
>>51565472
I'm sure you're not a 14 year old girl, but everyone is trying to replicate a certain sound.
for example if you're trying to make it in a hardcore punk scene or something similar, with vocals like that, nobody is going to take you seriously.
Where as in a more folk-ish (?) environment your vocals will be accepted.
>>51565536
My pleasure man, cheers!
Just finished up a song, looking for some feedback.
>progressive ambient electronic with random shit
https://soundcloud.com/prograde/terminus-ft-jealousy
>>51565536
>Folk
Um no man, totally wrong
And the point is I have no ambition to make it in any scene, I'd either write prog rock with clean vocals or ambient piano stuff like Lisa Gerrard, or do a piano thinf like Daniel Johns' work on My Minds' own melody
>>51565636
btw I'm not trying to sound like a dick with the whole 14 year old girl thing or the "totally wrong" bit.
>>51565636
i'm just trying to help wow don't get all "YOU DON'T KNOW ME OR MUH MUSIC >:(" on me hahaha calm down.
yeah do whatever. i don't really see a reason to try to help you since you're just going to act all high and mighty. find you own way. good luck.
>>51565684
too late i already typed muh shit.
>>51565617
really liked that. The first half Movement I was like waiting for sight of a certain person, and the second half feels like you've seen them but you're still un-noticed.
Then Movement II feels like they've noticed you and they're coming for you.
I don't know if that helps at all but that's what I think of when I hear it.
The sound design in Movement II sounds amazing honestly.
You should try to score films or even video games. I think you could do well with it. Based on that track.

Prograde here, thanks for the input. I'm working on an EP at the moment, so more stuff like this is on the way.
>>51565802
doesn't matter anyway, I'm obviously not involved with the sound or style you're looking to achieve, so i'm in no position to give any advice that would be worth while.
wish all the best for you though.
>>51565819
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for that.
>>51565881
Check out the last 2 artists I mentioned though, god knows they could use the attention.
>>51565938
will do!
I'm only doing SCs, because I'm not tryna rate a bandcamp/vocaroo.
>>51565617
pretty okay noise, but the beat at 1:16 is dope as fuck and I wish you would've done more with it.
>>51565363
Pretty hard, I wanna know how you make that bass, but otherwise kinda forgettable. That melody sounds very similar to a G.O.O.D. music outtake, which is great, but not particularly unique.
>>51565177
This is really engaging for ambient. I'm digging the progression and when this picks up, that noisy element is really nice. The only thing I could possibly critique on this is that I wish it had a better ending.
>>51565076
meh, I feel like I'm missing out of an in-joke that you've made up. Your vocals should be closer, but it sounds like you're recording both guitar and vocals together so no judging here.
>>51564892
I'm already following you, but I don't remember why. digging the guitar part of this track, I wish your vocals were more prominent in the mix. I like your vocal range, and tthis cover is nice, but there's not much else to it..
