this video is horrifying. i honestly cannot believe that so many americans enjoy this kinda thing. is it just because they're not exposed to decent music? it's kinda sad. i wonder if they'd actually enjoy decent music if they were exposed to it. probably not

>>
>>51278690

there was this kid i gave a ride to once. asked him what kinda music he liked and he said 'house or anything bro'. so i put on some dance mania as well as this great techno mix by pangaea and after the whole thing he said 'damn how can you listen to the same beat for that long that's not even house'

funny times.

>>51278690
how important do you think listening gear is for music appreciation?
i mean, popular things generally have to either sound good with terrible speakers or catchy in some way or another.

because there's a clear connection in my head between EDM and any other house tune, where both types of music are structurally just as repetitive and unimaginative yet one is somehow considered better than the other.

deep house has absolutely nothing to offer me if it ain't catchy. its' fixed structure and "subtle shifts" are just boring.

yet things are different with jungle. maybe because that's more emphasized and wide in general - much like what EDM is to house

there's two different types of clubs

there's the ones that the general populace thinks of when you mention "a club" which is like 50% 50% gender split, plays rihanna and beyonce and pharrell and stuff all night. where people are literally just there to get laid. they don't care about the music or anything. the sound system and the djs are shit. they're just there to get drunk to increase their confidence with regards to talking to the other gender and are all dressed up in their best clothes. essentially for them, if they don't bang, the night's failed. it's like a speed dating service

then there's the proper "/bleep/" clubs. booking sick djs on wicked sound systems. people are just wearing what's comfortable to dance in. and they're not dancing because they want to attract someone, they're doing it because they love the music. no one's drunk, but loved up on drugs instead. letting the dj take them on a journey. losing their minds over dubplates and drops. no one's judging anyone. no one goes here to get laid. if, on the slim chance, you kick it off with the right girl in the smoking area that's just a bonus. the quality of the night isn't defined by it
>>
>>51279109
>no one's drunk

speak for yourself lmsao
>>
>>51279109

Lmao, m8 have you ever left your room?
I would love to see your face when you realise that about half of your favourite producers and djs are just beer and pussy guys.
>>
>>51279148

Of course they do to someone who spends his weekends on 4chan becoming a desensitized dipshit....human interaction means nothing to you.
>>
>>51279123
>>51279143

hm, maybe in america. in the uk tho if you go to a good club pretty much everyone is on drugs instead. i went to a garage and jungle night on friday and i'd say probably like 90% of the people there were on something. there's reasons clubs like fabric have designated water bars. you might have like a pint or two before hand and then maybe like one in the club when you're coming up. but it's just a lot more fun, as well as wayyy cheaper, to buy like a pill or two and just have them. rather than like splashing out £40 - £50 inside the club on overpriced drinks
>>
>>51279163
>human interaction means nothing to you
This is correct, it's just something you do, it doesn't have to mean anything. And to be honest a transient interaction with some random person in a club doesn't mean anything and never will.
>>
>>51279168

they're really strict about the whole drugs thing over here. ive gotten my dick and ass patted down before. sometimes they check socks and shit too.

>>
>>51279211
never put it in your socks. boxers is the only place to go. at big clubs bouncers will feel up in there, yeah but 99.9% of the time if u just put it up in your boxers and only have enough for yourself they're not gonna feel it. they only really care about people coming in with like bags and bags of pills to sell in the crowd anyway

2nd hand buying is alright, technics shit is always built to last, you just have to buy some new styli when you get them. the only difference between 1200 and 1210 is the colour, the MKs dont matter too much, some better functionality but honestly nothing worth the extra money

Latch has been on the radio in America since early this year
>>
>>51284706
so america is musically behind the uk by 2 years, 1 month and 1 day? sounds about right, tbh
>>
>>51284836

i know, a bit sporadically though.

i usually hear it at least once a day now. also that other really popular song with an actual garage beat. something na na na. that gets played here a lot as well.

>>51284836
>>51284854
In most places yeah, but not everywhere. It's only just starting to trickle down into my local area now.
>>
/bleep/ is so kill. Now it's filled with fags that attend EDC festivals and listen to deep house and dubstep.
>>
>>51284860
Oh yeah, that Naughty Boy one with the two step beat.
>>
>>51284602
>forgotted pop music gems
????? u know settle was a #1 album? lmao

>>
>>51284880

>>
WHY ARE AMERICANS SO PATHETIC OMG
>>
>>51284894

>>
everyone shut the fuck up and post some fucking pop bangers

so if pop isn't bleep is this still bleep
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4sPkS8b62Q
>>
In addition to Latch and Naughty Boy - La La La. I'm also starting to hear a lot of these on my local radio:

Is 2-step/UK Garage/Deep House/UK RnB going to be the next big trend in mainstream American music?
>>
>>51285003

dis one too, gets played a lot not super bleep but its ona house tip

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-M1AtrxztU

i think it will only catch on if it has some singing over it though. stuff like that route 94 track wont work.
>>
>>51284899
still a pop gem either way you put it
>>
Am I the only one who hears buzzing in my right earphone at 2:14 in this track?

you are far more of a fucking retard mate

1. disclosure are way more 'pop' than anything else discussed here, with an INTENTION of being pop music rather than purely dance music.

2. the national anthem thing is a complete joke. these threads are not for 'forgotten pop music gems' and never have been
>>
>>51285094
Oh yeah that one got a lot of play a few months ago but never really took off
>>
how to spot a newcoming /mu/ cunt:
>the national anthem thing is a complete joke. these threads are not for 'forgotten pop music gems' and never have been
>>
>>51285134
this is probably the worst /bleep/ thread i have ever seen. all these americans talking about 2 yr old uk pop music thinking that it's underground and cool. smdh
>>
>>51285162

pretty sure i also heard some jessie ware before although not super familiar with her music

this. Americans ignored UK garage the first time around and it wasn't until two years after a mediocre revialist group had a string of massive hits in the UK and the rest of the world that America decides to jump on the bandwagon.
>>
>>51285198
omg...
>>
>>51285187

right its almost as bad UKers posting 25 year old ghetto house or trying to talk about footwork

lmao

>>51285223

reminder that america invented uk garage.
>>
>>51285134
>with the INTENTION of being pop music rather than purely dance music
what the fuck are you even talking about
like seriously you're just making up shit
>>
>>51284304
>americans
Pretty sure it's more non-UK euros than americans trying to fit in. Germans have a hard-on hate for anything mainstream and seriously would rather take monotonous techno rehashes to well-crafted pop hits.
>>
>>51285236
>reminder that america invented uk garage.
Yeah, and then they promptly ignored it for 20+ years. You only have yourselves to blame.
>>
ily /bleep/

reminder that america invented house and techno too

no, it would be the equivalent of us trying to talk about this or something: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oYp3AQqG1U

disclosure is str8 up pop music. their album went to #1 in the chart ffs
>>
>>51285286
b-but the american mainstream didn't care about them back then so that means your statement is invalid
>>
Guys let's make the OP picture for the next thread a picture of Disclosure - Settle so we make it clear that Disclosure is allowed in /bleep/

Ok. I'm just going to say it. This is one of the worst albums I have ever heard in my life. I'm not even kidding. I actually turned it after two songs and just deleted it, and I NEVER do that.

It literally sounded like there was some terrible robotic cat woman meowing the whole time. I' not even joking, I thought this was a literal piece of shit.

Sorry but it's the truth and someone had to say it.
