>>50779361
All I mean by entry-level is "It's the music that most-embodies the genre."
Classical entry-level is Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. Still, lots of people don't appreciate Bach at first due to the complexities inherent, or Mozart for the comparative simplicity, or Beethoven for the grandiosity. Nonetheless, their popularity gives them their "level."
>>
>>50779268
Not the guy you're replying to but I believe that certain albums within a genre can be considered entry-level, often you'll find they share characteristics of other genres, so it feels more comfortable and familiar to listeners new to the genre. But most importantly, in genres that employ things that might offend a new listeners ear (atonality, harshness, chaos, etc.) you'll find entry level albums that tone these genre defining characteristics back, so they ease the listener into the genre.

I'm not looking for anything specific, it's just that most music I try out that gets labeled jungle isn't good to me.
This is the only jungle release I've found that I like, although I see people say that this isn't really jungle a lot.

>Post-hardcore
Terrible genre as far as descriptions of similarities between bands.

Anyway:
At the Drive-In - Acrobatic Tenement/Relationship of Command
Fugazi - Repeater
NoMeansNo - Wrong

(Loosely associated around post-hardcore)
Death From Above 1979 - Romantic Rights
Glassjaw
Brand New - The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me

I hear you. Generally not a huge Jungle fan so I don't know what is labeled 'jungle' and which just feature a jungle beat.

I can tell you that if you are into the sound, try a few IDM artists out if you haven't already.
'µ-Ziq – Brace Yourself Jason' is a pretty good example.

Another IDM song that uses more of the original jungle influence.
Dawn Penn & Bounty Killer – You Don’t Love Me (No No No)

Post-rock. It's so fucking boring /mu/, and as a dude with ADD even when I'm on my medication I can't focus on it

lykathea aflame - elvenfris
Archspire - The Lucid Collective

both are brutal / tech death. you might not like em but you should find them funny at least

Listen to Maybeshewill - Not For Want of Trying. It's the heavier side of post-rock.

I've got ADD pretty bad (I'm doing a paper as we speak) and I absolutely love Tortoise, Stereolab, Talk Talk, Godspeed, etc. I'm a musician too, so maybe that helps me appreciate the abstracted, episodic song structures and focus on texture, but I don't have to get TOO cerebral to dig it. Just take your time with the stuff OP. But how about Tortoise's Standards. It's more direct than some of their previous stuff.

Maybe it's ambient techno, but it is definitely not strictly ambient music. IDM is a loose umbrella term, so while BOC doesn't draw from D'n'B quite like the RDJA does, they're both IDM.
