Probably 90% of the music in my library incorporates guitar in some way. The rest of it is mostly jazz or electronic.
Recommend me music without any guitar in it. The more obscure the instrumentation, the better. I want marimbas, recorders, tamboura, tribal drumming, whatever you can throw at me.
Pic related, I want stuff like this.
Do I look like your fucking mom?

/mu/ is at its absolute nadir. Amongst all the Taylor Swift threads, worship of Weezer and Slipknot, non-music related threads, endless circlejerking over the same 20 bands, you choose this thread to shitpost in? Kill yourselves, all of you.

This isn't a fucking spoonfeeding board. If you want to have a discussion about traditional Chinese music, the artists, history, notable artists, instruments etc, lets do it, but you can't can you, you haven't got a fucking clue, you just want people to spoonfeed you album links to DL.
Fuck off.

The idea that most people who request something as 'spoonfeeding' is cancer. There's a real joy to making lists and the whole idea of a scene is about that love of exchanging mixtapes and coming up with recommendations for others. As a music fan it should be a JOY to recommend. This is why /mu/ will never get the same credibility as music magazines or academia. The people here are less about sharing music and more about building their mini music-empires and touting some false flimsy philosophy of 'self-determined' individually chosen library that can be found. Discussion IS spoonfeeding you fuckface; its just spoonfeeding with a back and forth.
Fucking 95% of the discussion around here is not even about meaningful exchange in music. Even a one way exchange would be worth something but most of it is just perpetuating a cult of negative listening. They don't say 'you should listen to this' but they say 'you should not listen to this' and don't even recommend any album in return that would make up for that 'negative'. The term 'circlejerking' is actually also as harmful because it denies the album recommended but then it enforces this idea that they should already be 'in the know' about other albums. No recommendations are done. There's no such thing as music 'discussion' without recommendations unless you're talking about a 'theory-based' level (like analysis of structure or history of the scene), which there isn't as well anyway. I would ask for 100 'your personal 10/10 album' posts than 100 'stop spoonfeeding, your taste sucks, meme-shit' posts.

OP here, I've already got this and it's awesome. Seconding this rec.

You can't do that for specific instruments, though. I've been trying to find good marimba music and RYM is not very helpful for that at all. Marimba is used in many styles, and most of those styles don't always include marimba in their instrumentation.

>>50735898
They have a really fantastic library of music, but it's sorta hard to seed there. I can't offer you a invite because I'm still in the Member class. It's definitely worth the effort for the interview.

What do you mean by that?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_BitTorrent_terms
>>50736003
I know what seeding is, what I meant was why is it harder to seed on what.cd?
>>50736017
There are people with dedicated seedboxes there, which can output insane upload speeds.
>>50736024
Ah, that does sound like it could be difficult in terms of maintaining a healthy ratio.
>>50736034
Yeah, I have a decent one but I've uploaded plenty of stuff.

Ambient and experimental music with a wide array of insturmentation and textures. Creates a very mysterious and grim atmosphere. Almost reminds me of Silent Hill in a way, not through its musical structure but the tones and textures used and the atmosphere it creates.
