Post-punk doom rock.
>>50405550
Can't give you surf rockgaze, but perhaps psychedelic surf rock might be of interest.

Honestly, I'd like to have a genre that takes really shitty drum machine samples, generic waveforms, and other really weird samples. I'm been making some stuff like that lately and I can't find a genre to tag it as
>>50405841

This is a shitty example, but it's kind of what I'm talking about.

You just know straight away that this happened in Britain
Sludge house.
>>50405550
>>lowercase folk
Sunshine Has Blown is tagged as EAI + free folk on RYM. It's probably not what you're expecting though; I'm sure something closer to lowercase folk exists somewhere... if not, it shouldn't be too hard to make.

Depends on what you mean by "post-" of course, but I've described Pedestrian Deposit's later albums as just that.

PD used to be a noise project but it's more electroacoustic now, very atmospheric too, yet you can still hear a noise sensibility in their music. Kinda close to Yellow Swans.
Dying Air by Kevin Drumm may also qualify:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8N_QIZ-6gU
A wretched acoustic soundscape, with lots of silence (but still rather distinct from lowercase). The artist even recommends playing it in one room and listening to it in another.

µ-Ziq - Bilious Paths
Math Jazz. I know that a lot of jazz uses unconventional time signatures, but I'd like to hear something like pic related but with dissonant jazz instrumentation.

My project Fur Trader could be considered that. I don't work on it much anymore.
>trapgaze
More specifically, music that has a distinctly shoegazy feel combined with trap-style drum beats, you know, the 808s and the hi-hats and shit
For reference, the closest I've found to the sound I'm looking for is Made in Heights and even that is way off

Jesus fucking christ
I'm the guy you're replying to, and as insanely cliche as this sounds, I got the 'trapgaze' idea from a dream I had where I was part of a band that made music in that style
The first track on this is so close to what my dream sounded like that it's almost scary
Exactly what I wanted, thanks anon

i've done songs that are pretty much just horn away from that, it's also less hell math and more post-rock influenced math it's also got other things that mean you don't even want to hear it (or maybe you already have)
and actually listening to what that other guy posted makes me feel bad, not because it's bad, but because i'll never make anything that cool

No, digital hardcore doesn't count.
I basically want an angrier-sounding, more kinetic Sigue Sigue Sputnik.
