>Lets bring back tone field from dead
PS: how tonefield works
Some guy posted some ideas about converting painting genres to musical ones (listing down the characteristics of a painting genre and using logic, musical skills and painting skills to convert those characteristics to musical ones).
One usually posted was colorfield art.
Tonefield is colorfield converted to music.

How the songs are:
1-Song must be mono
2- Song start with totally silent part with at least 1 second or with a tone with at least one second (this tone must have the same volume, frequency and waveform during its entire time).
3- Song ends or continue with a new silent part with at least 1 second or with a tone with at least one second (with same volume, frequency and amplitude). This happen without fade in or fade out.
4-go back to 3

Anyway this (and some other painting or literary ideas) was posted since years ago, you can problably find some archieved threads that will have this idea.

Some day some guys decided to try it. Just few albums were made because (problably because this genre is too much to people handle "urr durr 2deep4u"
Anyway some of the albums made'

sushi wave should be the microgenre of 2015.
it will sample 90's/2000's hip hop and mix it with samples of death metal, merzbow, sounds of people killing themselves during 9/11, fox news reports on isis...
it will critique microgenres and meme culture.
the imagery is mostly inspired by cooking shows and old vhs safety videos.
the fashion style is a mix of 80's car salesman outfits and shiny disco apparel.

Psyche Travel;
Similar to field recordings but less folk oriented, different parts of the songs are recorded in different positions, so you might have the drums recorded in a cave, guitar recorded on a skyscraper with mics on various other skyscrapers close to it, vocals in like a haunted hospital hallway, bass in an aquarium. The catch is, the orgins of recording would keep changing. So suddenly the drums are in a field, guitar is in a bassment, bass amp is underwater, it would be mixed together for a seamless transition, and would be pretty dope.

Wave. Just wave. No other descriptors. Make club music interesting again. Dark, bass-heavy beats, serious Underworld-like lyrics, eclectic sampling, artsy attitude. Sell it as hipster techno. Use hardware instead of software. Make club music feel authentic. Boom. Mega hit.
