What is your /bloop/ AOTYSF? Releases you're looking forward to? Excited for Syro?

I wasn't really feeling UTQC and I felt that track with Kendrick Lamrr was kinda eh. Reserving judgement until I've heard the full album.

Question to anyone who has been to the Syro listening parties: will this track be on the album?

that's just the ending of minipops tweaked to fit a longer live performance, don't think that's a track.

I love Warp too, one of my favorite labels. There are 4 Warp releases on up there also. I tried to make the selection there as diverse as possible, and avoid some extremely obvious names people are going to listen to anyway.

Also good, though a lot more obvious. I'd be careful labeling Rossz and Four Tet IDM though. FSOL is kind of on the fence too, they're usually lumped into the bunch, though there's hardly anything similar to them in the "genre".

Put up some suggestions, 4real. I know a fuckton about /bloop/core from 10-20 years back but have listened to hardly any releases from the last few years.

Not so much in the last two years, but I've been on and off for a while, 99% anonymously though. Had to put up the name for this though, I've been thinking of this counterpart to /bleep/ as well and with the same exact name too (not that it is some unique idea).

Also, everyone should listen to Michael Fakesch, he's like a milder version of mid-90s Autechre.

Anyone like Kangding Ray? His 2014 album might be a little to /bleep/-y for this thread but I think Automne Fold is a pretty great album.

>>49842616
I liked Stabil from him years ago but haven't cared too much in a while. I hate Raster-Noton with passion though so I don't have high expectations for it. Sampling "Blank Empire" at the moment, sounds as dull as ever. I hate the digital clean-as-fuck distortion.
>>
Hey who wants hidden afx traks
>>

Automne Fold is in my top 10, can't really say I'm digging the '14 release as much as that though.
It's -nice-, but it's not what he could do.
>>
>>49842630
Torn between Untilted and Draft 7.30, I love their more abstract 200-2005 output. Their '90s stuff is good as well. Amber, Garbage, Anvil Vapre, Cichlisuite, LP5 and EP7 are really great.

>>49842616
I like Kangding Ray a lot. OR is my favourite album by him (the way the album is constructed is impressive — feels like a long arc of construction then deconstruction), but Automne Fold is a very close second—the almost whispered vocals make it really special. A very human and melancholic album.

Solens Arc is my least favourite by him. Darker, more techno-oriented, which makes it less original than his previous works — and it lacks strong memorable moments. I don't feel like coming back to it the way I did with his previous albums.

Electronic Lounge Music

What is the difference between bleep and bloop? Is bleep just repetitive dance music, while bloop is any other 'lectronic music?

Also, why does /bleep/ get so anally anguished when people talk about things they don't like, outside of /bleep/?
>>
>>49844586
Some guy in the previous thread proposed Electronic Listening Music as a catch-all term for /bloop/ music, as /bleep/ already covers club music and such. I think it was supposed to correlate with the reasonging behind the Artificial Intelligence compilations (and subsequently "IDM"/"Braindance") but it sounds kind of redundant out of context like that.

>>49844846
Pretty much. /bleep/ is techno and club music while /bloop/ is supposed to cover pretty much the rest. Don't know what exactly /bleep/'s beef with these threads is. Maybe they're trying to have a giggle or somehting.
>>
>>49844900
I don't get it, why do they act superior about lowest common denominator music? Like, I can gel with them liking what they want, but why act superior about generic dance music?
>>
>>49844922
>why do they act superior about lowest common denominator music?
Attitudes like that probably have a bit to do with it.

Are we really having bleep and bloop generals

Go fuk urself
>>
>>49844846
To put it simply: they hate the pretentiousness of IDM heads. Most /bleep/ folks think people listen to IDM because it's "intelligent" and avoid other dance music because it's un-intelligent. They also hate how people confuse their trve dance music for the commercialized american EDM that is popular among people unaware of actual dance music culture.
>>
>>49845016
This supposed pretentiousness is something that's usually restricted to shitholes like the Youtube comments section. Most people on /mu/ I've spoken with about IDM seem to actively try not to come across as the idiot minority that actually thinks they're intelligent because IDM has the wor "intelligent" in it. This sort of behaviour isn't exclusive to IDM either, you can see it in pretty much every genre.
>>
Is Giraffage okay for this thread? What do you think about him?
>>
>>49845181
Does /bleep/ like em? If not, welcome aboard. If they do, you better brush up on speaking like a chav.
>>
>>49844979
>Have you been to /bleep/?
Well yeah, actually, I'm there a fair bit.

Bloop's fixation with bleep will not help with the shitposting, a good portion of which would likely be false flag. Bleep put up with a lot of shitposting before it got established.
>>
>>49845326
Does everybody in bleep tend to speak like a chav, or is it just one guy?
>>
>>49845326
Yeah, might as well stop focusing on /bleep/ altogether because so far it only seems to be a shitposting incentive. Let's let /bleep/ keep being /bleep/ so /bloop/ can keep being /bloop/.
>>
>>49844457
