>ambient thread that doesnt mention tim hecker or fennesz
>>49400803
>>49400765
apollo is by far his most popular album though
>>49400819
>>49400705
Oh look, Tim Hecker being mentioned
>>49400803
holy shit this is wack
>>49400943
Wack as in what? Good or bad?
>>49400966
really bad
>>49401001
Fuck you too.
>>49401009
Calm down friend. From what I heard, some decent ideas in there but they're not really ambient, they're just sort of random electronic tracks meandering hoping to form into some kind of coherent idea but never quite making it. Keep at it tho.
>>49401063
this is pretty accurate. agreed. its not a bad thing, it just means he needs to work some more at it and keep practicing.
>>49400651
babby with no attention span
>>49400705
seconding Substrata and Somnium
>>49400668
>SAW 85-92
not even really strictly ambient
more ambient techno
same goes for this but it's god tier as well
>>49401318
gas is kinda meh
>>49401318
Only a couple tracks are rhythm-based, the rest are straight ambient
>>49400609
He totally sold out once he released The Dream tho
I really like Ambient 2 as well
Ordered a Celer tape the other day
>>49401318
I agree with your choice too, anon
Also this
Just got around to listening to Stealth the other day was pretty nice as well
oh my god this thread is so depressing. here's some entry level MODERN ambient/drone, the eluvium is p good too I'd also recommend Natural Snow Buildings' Dance of the Moon and the Sun if you like a little freak folk thrown in with your ambient.
>>49401344
His techno stuff is the best.
Without the beats it's just really boring ambient music.
>>49401261
Wrong one
>>49401390
wow, just saw tired sounds was mentioned earlier and now i feel like a dick. carry on y'all (although i still recommend Dance of the Moon and the Sun).
>>49401358
Celer isn't the most consistent but they've got some really good stuff.
Underrated, for sure.
>>49400816
i love this
>>49401436
I would be eternally grateful if anyone could share this alubm
>>49401414
I really enjoy the dynamic created by using both. I personally find the more free-form pieces more rewarding, but the contrast between the two makes the album more effective than either would be on its own.
>>49401456
soulseek, my friend
Got into this recently. Stars of the Lid has already been recommended.
>>49401436
Steve Roach is great. He lives where I was born and my mom's met him a couple times
I liked this.

10/10 so far.

Pop is definitely Voigt's magnum opus. It perfectly blends the feeling of nostalgia and the calm, free-flowing form that gas is all about. Take acid and listen to it again.
Mostly personal connections but I really do think these are some of the best out there.
Aloof Proof - Expo Two Piano Text

Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - Bloodstream Sermon
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E86NBqyiw4g
A lot of people argue Love is a Stream too, also really solid.
Preslav Literary School - La Reflexion Du Tir

>>49401550
Yeh that's a pretty good one as well I've sampled it and various Dustin O'Halloran solo stuff far too many times though...
>>49401575
Aloof Proof? Mah friend of african descent
I think Inside the Quiet stands alongside Piano Text as well.
>>49401613
For real, All three of his albums are top notch. Weddings, Funerals and Births is probably my favorite track in his catalog.
Anyone jap ambient here?
>>49401684
Yup, Hakobune is some great jap drone

>17 year olds listening to ambient
sup avant-teens
question, what's the difference between lounge and ambient?
>>49401754
ambient is relaxing bruv, why would you need to be an avant teen to like listening to it.
>>49401754
Fav ambient album?
>>49401754
sup
Oh, I've got a big soft spot for this album too.
