Anyone know any other maximalist post-trap like this?

some are bit different, some less 'post', but i think the energy is similar. i personally call that style hypertrap.
and you probably want to look into some footwork if you don't know it yet:

Wow thanks a ton man, really appreciate it. I'm bad at sifting through artists to find gems in soundcloud so I'm not sure if I would have found any of these on my own.

no problem man
yeah i don't use soundcloud much for searching myself
have some fun with more good juke and footwork:

i think the maximalist energy you are looking for was not only invented by 'post-trap'
>>61464236
maximalism is a totally justified aesthetical term and also the new style of self-reflecting and exaggerated trap can very well be defined as post-trap
if you havent heard it you might like rustie's new album
>>61463327
It's called wonky.
>>61464977
i get how one could have that idea, but i really disagree on that
>>61465117
You would rather use your faggy made up term for something that has already been properly labeled?
>>61463327
It's post-chillwave maximal plundertrap
>>61465296
which term did you assume that i use? no, i just think that wonky is a different sound and has a way different approach to it
>>61465296
why do you think it's false to come up with and discuss new terms to specify sounds and styles?
>>61465296
>uses factual adjective
>uses an adjective to describe the aesthetic and "newer" sound of the specific genre
>uses specific genre name
>made up term
Nigga what? Wonky is different, this is nu-trap. Post-trap is a very fair way to describe it, and it is VERY layered and maximillist approached

>>61465772
You are both complete idiots.

you could have just said that you don't want to pursue this discussion, i'm fine with that

This album has noticeable trap elements but that doesn't make it post trap. It is very maximalist but I can't see how it's not wonky. It's sample heavy and very angular which is not trap AT ALL.
>maximalist post-trap
dont ever say this again
>>61465941
Ok well I don't want to pursue a discussion with you two if you aren't going to take the time to understand what my post is actually saying and put together a proper response.

The hell happened to my thread
>>61464055
Anyway these were all fantastic, thanks a ton. I've heard some footwork before but never really dived into the genre, do you have any favorite artists?
>>61466430
newfags happened
>>61464977
>wonky
>not also a totally made up term
>>61467722
At least it's established.
>>61467962
By Rustie and a few unsuccessful SC kids, yes
>>61463327
>maximalist post-trap
>post-chillwave maximal plundertrap
I missed the good old days when only rock'n'roll & blues existed; they didn't have retarded names!
this is very similar to igloohost imo.

>Hudson Mohawke, Flying Lotus, Arca
Yeah, a few unsuccessful SC kids m8
>>61468283
Show me where they associate with the term?
>>61468283
>Hudson Mohawke, Flying Lotus
>Wonky
now this is reaching
>>61464977
>>61467722
Wonky describes anything that sounds intensely trippy, or something that lacks form. Arca's early work such as his Stretch 1 & 2 mixtapes, were wonky. And this can proven from the way it sounds, the melodies are stuttering and off-kilter, the vocals are high pitched and unintelligible. It sounds like it has no form, like a psychedelic trip.
If anon means Wonky in terms of a genre, then no, that doesn't exist. It's strictly an adjective.
>>61468283
>Flying Lotus
>Zodiac Shit
>All of You're Dead
No one's reaching. Lotus can produce some pretty intense shit now and then.
>>61468885
Agreed, nobody is denying it as an adjective. The anon used it as a genre term which doesn't exist as you said
