1992 - thousands of Serb refugees were trapped in Smoluća with enemy forces besieging the village. Muslim and Croat forces were keeping the red cross out of the village so there was no electricity, food or medicine coming in nor any chance to evacuate sick children or elderly.
After 3 months of besiegement in the end of August 1992, the Army of Republika Srpska hereunder Garda Panteri, broke through and evacuated the population. After this, Croatian and Muslim units looted the village and burned it to the ground.
